| | In praise of melons(thanks office)
Praise Jesus, I have found a way to make fresh watermelon palatable. And it goes a little sumthin' lahk this...
Approx 2-3 cups fresh watermelon
A big splash of lemon juice (1/4 cup, maybe?)
1/2 cup of sugar
About 8-10 ice cubes
Blend, blend, blend.
If I had some hard liquor in this house I would add some rum to this and knock the socks off of your favorite daquiri.
However, I don't have that kind of stuff around (although I *am* making
a shopping list, hrm...), so this is just a pedestrian summer
smoothie. It is GOOD, THOUGH. Serves two finicky boys and
one nursing mommy.
Praise Budda, I have enormous boobs and it's not my imagination,
either. I was fitted for a bra today and it turns out I am
wearing a size 38 DD these days. Ay, Caramba! The nice lady
at the nursing store (who was too nice to hate despite the fact she was
naturally pretty, a size one, blonde, and looked about 15 years old)
told me that it's common for moms to make more milk w/ each successive
baby. So...it's not just been my imagination that my boobs have
gotten bigger each time.
I don't think the gal at the store was wearing a bra. Mebbe a
coupla band-aids. (I confess I wasn't checking her out, sorry,
guys.) Sometimes (only sometimes), I miss those days. The
flat-chested days, not the days of checking out chicks. Only one
of those is over, right? Hoo-ah! I
wanted boobs for so long, though, and felt less feminine than others
because of my flat-chested-ness...I wouldn't want to go back now.
Not to "Nearly A" land.
Anyway, new bras for me! Hallelujah! New nursing shirts, new bras...it's a whole new lease on life, huh?
Speaking of new, also, I added some ads to my website. I figured
since I already have ads for my own businesses posted on my blog, I'd
try the whole googleads thing. If they get annoying or start
causing me problems, I'll take them down. I'm curious to see how
they work, though, since the ads are supposed to be based on the
content of this site (once it gets visited by the spider thingie).
You know me, always trying something new, and anything to make a buck.
Well, Steve is home, and the rain might hold off long enough for us to visit the fair...catch ya later, alligators.
