Happy Friday!

Another beautiful day!  What are you up to today?  Taking down the tree?  Stocking up for your New Year's Eve party?

We're probably going to the library and grocery shopping.

The living room is actually mostly picked-up.  Of course, the playroom is a disaster, but I'll work on that when I get down there later.

It's taking me some...moments...to get over not having time to get ready in the mornings.  Now that the alarm isn't going off at 5:20 am, I wake up not long before the kids do, and I don't get a private shower, makeup and hair fixin' time, etc.  They don't seem to mind, though.    It is just a difficult transition for me.  I find myself running out the door of the house, like yesterday, with some kind of mysterious brown stuff smeared all over the front of my jeans.  It's like..."WOW!  Where did that come from?"

I'm still growing my hair out.  Right now it's a short bob, but one of these days it will be a long mane that I will pull back in a ponytail, or braid in a looooooooong braid, and I will be mistaken for a magical princess, or a fair maiden who just happens to be accompanied by three cute little urchins wherever I go.

Also, I think my wrinkles will disappear, and I can stop worrying about the eye cream I keep forgetting to apply.

Regardless, it feels good to be home.

I hope whatever you are doing today, it is what you feel you are supposed to be doing.

I'm working on my book for a bit now.  Steve has the kids for a little bit...then he's got to get back to work.  He's only got a few days to meet a big deadline.

Well I've been back at work for 3 days, so that's what I'm doing until suppertime anyway. No New Year's Eve plans (by choice) so don't need to worry about that either.  The tree will remain intact until New Year's Day, I suspect. I want to enjoy the twinkly lights a bit longer.

I would be quite alarmed to find mysterious brown stuff smeared on my pants...of course, it would likely be chocolate, but still...

We don't take our tree down till Old Christmas.
As for New Years. All I have to do is get some alcohol as I'm going to a party not throwing one

I'm happy, to be going back to bed, ha .  Work has been keeping me up late this week.  And while I have a 3 hr break, I'm catchin' a snooze.  Other than that, I need to hit the grocery sometime today, too.

*wonders what "Old Christmas" is*

The challenge I have when I am at home is finding time to myself. Actually, it's a challenge all of the time, but at least when I go to work, I'm leaving the house, and going to do something on my own. When I am at home, like you, I tend to sleep in, and I lose all of that morning private time that I love.

Obviously, I am wasting time blogging. Should be cleaning the stinky kitchen, then packing for our ski trip. Yep - we fly into Denver and drive UP. So it will be interesting to see if we :
1. Arrive in Denver
2. Leave the airport.
3. Make it up the mountain to Winter Park.
4. Make it back down to Denver.
5. Get to come home on time.

RE the Brown stuff smeared on your front:
1. Do you have an infant running around with no diaper?
2. Did you slip into a chocolate seizure?
3. Have you been recently making mud cakes?
4. Have any of your walls been painted in the past 24 hours?
5. Have you been attending anyone with a stomach virus and projectile retching?

Happy Saturday!

All of my holiday stuff was taken down and thrown away [like the paper chains] or packed in boxes and put in the storage locker by Wednesday.

Right now I'm thinking about what I'll make for dinner tomorrow night and what I'll serve on New Year's Day.
