A review

Okay, I've been enjoying my video game for a good amount of time that I perhaps can do a bit of a review of my Animal Crossing: Wild World.

Overall, the graphics are nearly the same quality as the GameCube version, which exactly a difficult feat, especially considering how simplistic and cartoon-ish it is. Of course, I definitely like the additions of more character customizations, including headgear, facial accessories, and the highly coveted hairstyles (accessible later in the game). The fun part is finding these weird combos between headgear and facial accessories. At one point, I was enjoying my top hot and fake mustache combo, which made me look like some weirdo perusing through my own village.

Sound, although not much of a change in the DS version, has become a bit more important. Since you are playing this on the go, or at least somewhere not as home, it's sometimes a challenge to blast your speakers on the DS (which for DS-owners know is pretty loud stereophonic quality). Sounds are particularly helpful when fishing, because there's no rumble-pak feature on the DS as opposed to the GameCube's controller. So, you need to listen very carefully to that slight droplet noise that indicate a fish has bitten on your fishing lure. I find it most helpful to wear headphones when I go on a fishing expedition.

Gameplay is absolutely terrific! I have to admit that some parts of it is way too reminescent of the original Animal Crossing, but the added bonus is being able to travel to other people's villages easily. Despite my initial troubles setting up my Nintendo Wi-fi USB Connector, you can pretty easily access other people's villages through the Nintendo Wi-fi Network. The only obstacle from making this a free-flowing network is the fact that you need friend codes, which act as passwords and a verification system to ensure travel between villages is permissable. There are some problems when people get disconnected or if a connection becomes weak and kicks you out. However, it's fun to visit someone and see what they have in their village. I'm the more generous type and I always come to a village bearing gifts!
