Just start with today.

I just took a walk around Hyde Park. My normal route, just about a half hour start to finish.

For the first time since making the decision to get the condo, I felt nostalgic about where I am now – where I've been the past six years. Every step brought back memories, and every landmark holds a story.

I think all the activity around getting a new condo, crashing an old car, and getting a ‘new’ car was able to distract me. But now the move is setting in.

I know I'll create new memories and new stories in Clifton. But right now, I'm sad about leaving Hyde Park.

Leaving places makes me feel so much more fond for them ... like Xanga.

Its always strange to me how stuff like that can affect me more than I think it will... you'll like the new neighborhood and eventually you'll feel the same way about that area I'm sure

Hold up there, hot stuff.  I feel like I've missed an important eff-related chapter or two here.  Am I assuming something happened to your car and now you're also moving?

Aaaaw. . .you are approaching it the right way. Cherish the memories you have there. And also - crashed car? Huh? Man, I have been away from Xanga way too long. . .

You really have a way of packing in the life events. I'm glad you are taking the time to cherish the good things about Hyde Park. And big congrats on the condo! (And a repeated apology for the prior critique. It's a cool place.)

But now the crash. I hope there were no injuries. I am experiencing a belated "Are you okay!? Are you hurt?! Do you need help?!" syndrome.

I am glad you have a new one and am going to assume that since your fingers work and you have not mentioned being hurt that you are okay.

I hope there is some excitement about the new place building too. House warming party?

New chapters are good... but it's good to cherish the old as well.

It's always good to move on. It makes you aware of the upcoming challenges, yet opens you up to the nostalgia of what has been.

Good to see you're still around too.

I feel like I've been dropped into your biography at page 149. Backstory! Narrative! Maybe foreshadowing and symbolism. Details!

I had a similar experience with letting my car go.  Not as dramatic as a crash, but it was a dramatic auto-bites-the-dust ending.  And there are definitely times that I get nostalgic for places and people.  It's very seasonal for me, actually.  Like emotional allergies.

I was pondering what to say and it just so happens that today's 'Notes From The Universe' . . . "Any and all forms of separation - disconnects, divides, partings, breakups, and goodbyes are temporary." However, that being said, it doesn't diminish the feelings we have when moving on . . I hope you weren't seriously hurt in the accident . . . happy to see you back Eff! xo

Wow, that was a pretty serious crash! I know a guy who was hit in approximately the same place, side curtain airbags deployed and everything. I'm assuming that you were not okay, but are getting better - going to the chiropractor? It helped a lot in my case.

Take care, missed hearing from ya! :)

.. I'm so happy you made the decision! You will have so many new memories to add to your lovely Hyde Park ones. Isn't that the wonderful part? That you'll be able to take those memories with you?

For the most part, I can live anywhere. The mountains are my favorite places to dwell. I currently live on the outskirts of the city/border-line in the country. But I'm definately a city girl at heart. Memories are good. I hope you'll be able to make new ones for the latest chapter in your life. It was good to hear from you.
