Cool,pure tones pour from speakers,
Cold hard words from my heart to my finger tips,
This makes me think of you.
Probing, hot breath, fingers, tongues
Violation remembered in the innocent uniform
Anonymous state trooper brought me farther to healing a year ago.
Long painful ride through my soul,
Body memories will not cease conjuring an event thirty nine years ago, anger wells up
Muffled screams, pain pressure
Disbelief in the aftermath
Disbelief in the telling
Disbelief in my mother's love,
Disbelief moaning through my bones,
Bringing me to my knees.
Why does shedding the bulk of the body bare the memories,
Bathing the lovely bones in light so all can see the pure
Child dwelling beneath the weight of years?
She's still in me, you know, waiting patiently to be
Recognized by the one who loves her.
Turn the corner, she is there patiently waiting,
Eager to be in my arms again,
I welcome her home.
Peace. |
