| | It is beyond my mortal comprehesion to know hw many raindrops there are in the world. I can tell you this- they would all seem to be in Vermont.
I've had opportunity to sit and stare out the window several times over the last week to watch the individual drops hurl themselves at the ground as if escaping some unseen torment in the June sky. Prior to that it was the May sky. Ah, well, I digress.
Normally, I choose not to complain about the weather. I studiously avoid devoting feeling to something over which I have no power, but the incessant deluge we've experienced of late makes me wonder what the hell is going on meteorologically. It seems strange to be experiencing this much rain fall, and yet I'm perfectly aware that we've had this much in previous summers. In another year or two, we'll have some drought and the two will balance each other. Meanwhile, what little I do have planted in the garden is stunted from lack of sunlight and a dilution of nutrients. Valiantly the little seedlings persist in holding the course, but I fear for their survival in the sodden soil. I'll have to let it be.
It's good weather for napping, reading and restoration. So off I go.
Blessings abound |
