  • Introducing Andrew Michael

So this update is way past due, one week and a day to be exact.  Last Saturday morning my sister gave birth to little Andrew Michael.  Well he wasn't really all that small at 8lbs 14ozs.  I have yet to see him as they live back where we grew up, and I'm going to be a horrible uncle and wait until I go back at the end of June to see him.

Andrew is my second nephew.  The total count is now at 8 nieces, and 2 nephews.

  • so much to say...too lazy to update

I know I promised to do a better job of keeping my xanga updated, however I have failed.  On some levels so much as been happening and yet not much of it has been work posting.  I have been helping a friend with her new house, getting it ready for her to move into, which  she did this past weekend.

We painted two rooms....but we painted them both twice because she didn't like the first color....oh that was so much fun!  I was away for the weekend so I am looking forward to getting out there to see the finished place with all her stuff moved in.

I was also out for a pub crawl a couple of weekends ago.  I met some new people and had a blast.  Time will tell if anything will happen with one new person in particular....I'll be sure to update should there be a need.

This past weekend was spent with the parental units.  It was good to see them, but I also realize it is not best for us to spend 4 days together....that is just too much time.

I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend.  I was also off today as I had an appointment to take care of.  Tomorrow is going to be a rough day....ugh....so not looking forwad to it.

  • long over due update...

i can't believe it, but it's been almost an entire month since my last post.  i haven't been inspired lately to actually sit down and write a post.  what has motivated me tonight to write one?  well i'm sitting here bored waiting for my friend.  we were to leave around 7 to head into the city for dinner and then to a party, but she decided (just like a typical woman) to take far longer than planned to get ready....so now i'm just sitting waiting....UGH.

Anyway, while there has been a lot that has happened over the last month, nothing is overly exciting.  Since my last post, my parents paid a visit and brought with them my aunt and uncle.  Yup, that's right, there were 5 people staying in my small one bedroom condo.  WOOHOO....it was a blast.  Another aunt and uncle also came down and stayed at my cousins place, which is about 30 minutes from my place.  Let's just say that was an interesting weekend on many, many levels.  My uncles are shall we say, quirky?  I guess that is the best way to put it.  So many things I wish to erase from my memory, especially the one of my uncle telling us about his colonoscopy over lunch on Saturday.

The following weekend was also another family filled weekend as it was Easter weekend and I made my way up to my parents to celebrate with them.  Saturday night we had our family Easter dinner.  My sisters and their families came over and my grandmother also joined us.  It was a very nice and relaxing dinner actually.  I must say that it was an overall nice weekend with the family.  No craziness took place.  I also got to see my other grandparents in the nursing home.  As usual, I didn't get to spend much time with them, but it was still good to at least get to see them.  My grandfather was telling his made up stories of his life, which is hard to handle when you know in his mind these stories are true.  It's so sad what happens as one ages.

Last weekend was my company "retreat" or "trip", whatever you want to call it.  I like to refer to it as the company paid "Drinkfest 2007".  As we tell our clients we have these trips for training purposes, however during the training all I was thinking about was what I would order for dinner and how many drinks I thought I would be able to have before making a fool out of myself.  I'm glad to say that I didn't achieve that goal, even though I had 4 rum and cokes, a glass of wine, a glass of port, and two mojito's.  Well at least I don't remember making a fool of myself.  I guess I will see if I get the "STAR AWARD" next month before confirming that I didn't do anything embarassing.

Anyway....hopefully it won't take me another month to get the motivation to write another post.  I also promise to do a better job of keeping up on my xanga reading moving forward.

  • hot and sweaty

after work yesterday a rather large group of us decided to meet up and get hot and sweaty together. music was on, there was some heavy breathing, and no matter how much pain they were in, we all were enjoying it.  No i didn't go to an orgy, i went over to the park for a walk.

spring has obviously sprung with the wonderful weather we are having here in the philly area this week.  yesterday the temp rose to over 80 degrees and the sky was clear, which made for a perfect park day.  while i wasn't able to actually run yet, i did take a nice brisk 4 mile walk.

a few weeks ago i had decided to go for a run as i normally do.  however that day i must have done some damage to my knee without realizing it.  the next day i went for my normal run and as i started out i felt a strange pain in my knee.  figuring it would work itself out, i just kept going.  after 35 minutes of running it was still there and the pain was getting worse, so i stopped and took two weeks off from running.  when i went back again, i wore a brace, but still the pain was there, so i sucked it up and went to the doctor.  turns out i just have bursitis.  he gave me a perscription and told me to rest it for another two weeks at least.  i figured i could at least walk, but last evening and this morning i'm finding i was wrong.  but hey no pain no gain, and trust me based on the sites i saw last evening at the park, the pain was well worth it.
