I finally battled it out with the IRS this morning...after waiting on hold for 20 minutes and debating for about 30 minutes. I will be getting my tax refund and stimulus in the next 2 weeks. Perfect timing! And the answer to your question... I've never "officially" changed my name with the gov't. I'm still a Salazar to the IRS even though my W2 reads Caldwell.
