i've been asked by a friend who is interested to know on wat we (the Technical Assistant team) have been doing in the Smart Schools, so i'll talk a bit about it here, hehe, don't be surprised bout the amount of time wasted there...i'll explain why so 'sian' and tired...

apart from that, hm...i haven't eatne dinner, and it is now 2050, but going to yamcha soon...i think, i have not asked anybody yet, but i see if ppl got mood since now raining...

wah, today again wake up early, aroudn 645, waited for Winson (my good friend, hehe, just to assure him) to come and fetch me, and others, Khim and the other ppl in his car oso waited outside my house for Winson to lead the way, along with Andrew's car...

well, after rushign thru breakfast from 815 to 830, we reached the SMK Seri Bintang Utara, hahaha, and from then onwards, guess wat we did! we spent time playing IQ Games, talking, chatting, playing fun games too! hehe, till 1115, we were told that we could go for lunch and come back at 1330 to start work!!!! wahlau, so it's one whole morning gone!

we went to eat in some 'not bad' food court called Peng Hwa, courtesy of Su En's guidance...she joined us for lunch...i ate 2 plates of chicken chop rice! yummy, hehe...after that, Su EN brought us to her kindergarden which is located at the bottom floor of a mall, then the rest when to play some arcade games while i sat outside watching htem play, already beginining to feel tired (i usually feel tired after eating or in the afternoon)...

when come back, hahahah, we lazed around until 1500! started work, we were instructed to prepare the machines for the ghosting cum multicasting session with a Win 98 image...hehe, the problem with the images here is that they do not come with the 'sysprep' software...FYI, whenever an image is ghosted onto multiple PCs, the multiple PCs will all have the same name as the image (e.g. PCX-XX), therefore, when 2 or more of the PCs attempt to logon to the domain at the same time, there might be a PC name conflict! usually in APIIT when we conduct our installations or maintenances, we'll resort to using the ghostwalker program (for WINNT) or sysprep for other installations in order to change the PC Name, i'm not sure if there is a program available for win98 to do this same function...

so anyway, apart from renaming PCs (lame) after the ghosting and multicasting, we had to add the printer for the comptuer too...oh yah, forgot to mention, the job had to be done in some computer lab...so 14 of us were working on er.........can't remember how many PCs, er....36 PCs i think, that's really a waste of manpower...

there are 2 solutions to avoiding PC Name conflict after a ghosting or multicasting session:

         1) Only bootup one PC at a time and rename each PC one by one

         2) Edit the registry by booting the PC (as many, even all the PCs can be booted up at the same time) into safe mode, editing the registry by changing the PC name there...

so we opted for the 2nd option...and things went smoothly...we finished the maintenance on the lab at around 1545...then we were told that we could go back! so u see, effectively, i earnt RM80 in 45 minutes! hehe, woohoo! but waste of timelar...really a waste...

i went home and sleep, and here i am...hehe...well, tomolo have to wake up early again, hopefully i'll have something more interesting to tell u ppl about tomolo, ciao!
