I need one of these.
This is called a "Chapman Stick" named after it's creator, Emmett Chapman.
Listen and find out why I was hooked on first listen.
Okay, Okay:
Here's a one take track of my version of Phil Keaggy's "Lovely Jesus". Too compressed and the levels are too low so you may want to use earphones. The playing is decent though. :)
Here it is. (Sorry. No vocals.)

Oh WOW - what a gorgeous rich sound!!! I want one toooooo!
Beautiful music...such depth...and he made it look so smooth and easy...I agree John...YOU need one of those
Ohhhh MY goodness!!! I LOVE that guitar! That type of music mesmerizes me. And if you had that guitar? Don't forget, I've heard you play and you can play just as well if not better, AND you can sing.....all the better.
To EVERYONE who reads John's blog........we want John to make a video playing his guitar right??? :ssgoofywink: <---for John
I guarantee you, you guys would love it, he's very good at it. I won't bother him about singing even though he has an awesome voice. His guitar playing is like this guy in the video's, no kidding.
Let me duck out of here now before he screams at me...lol. Cya Johnboy :sswink:
Actually? John's better than the guy in the video....I'm gone
Very cool. I'm surprised you don't hear more of that.

Yes, lovely - BUT WHERE IS THE VIDEO OF YOU PLAYING YOUR GUITAR????
:ssgoofy:
Have an awesome weekend, my wonderful John!
@triciaplumley - It's not a guitar. It is indeed a chapman stick...no lie. :sswink: And thanks for the nice comments.. now I have to go practice so I can be half as good as you say I am.
"Sticks" are really cool. I recommend going to a music store and trying one out. It's not like anything you've ever played before and it sounds great!
I looked them up online. It's a big stick that's for sure. Glad you practiced :ssgoofywink: (yea, like you really had to)......love the audio piece you put up!
LOL......@ Megan. Good idea. I've "never" had that one before :sswink:lol. I've never "seen" him play either, only heard him. I know he's good, but he does't do it on camera. He can sing to, but he hasn't done that on camera either.
HALF as good??? HALF?? I know that Proverbs tells us 'pride goes before destruction', but my dear friend....you are just as good if not better than he is and I'm not saying that JUST because you're my friend :ssgoofy:
I need to quit hogging your blog up....ROFL!
Thanks for sharing :)
Sounds gorgeous.
Very deep.
Did you know that Phil Keaggy has a podcast? I'm downloading it now in the Itunes store...can't wait to hear it.
Where oh where has my John guitar gone? I still await your magic fingers on the guitar in a special video for all of us -Trish better get her butt over there and film it for us - LOL!
@meganbarnard -
Megan, I do have the audio up there under the video.
