Rejoicing with Hope Baby J's dressings have all been removed; the doctor says there is no need for skin grafts on his little hand. He said to treat him like a normal 4-month old baby. But best of all, when he saw the baby for the first time since his dismissal a week earlier, our dil said the doctor looked absolutely stunned as he said, "This is a miraculous recovery!" To God be the Glory! ~ ~ ~ Our dil's father was dismissed yesterday evening; he will be staying with our son and his wife for awhile. His expected hospitalization stay was cut in half, just like Baby J's. What a God we serve! He will have redressings for awhile longer yet on his back and arms ~ and some debriding on his ears ~ but he is so much better and very grateful to be out of the hospital. ~ ~ ~ His wife's fungal infection has been eradicated, they feel. She then contracted a bacterial infection, which has also been treated; she is again fever-free. She was in surgery another 5 hours on Friday to remove her breathing tube and put in a temporary trach. They plan to begin skin grafts on her tomorrow if all goes well. They were bringing her down off her sedation meds, but now feel she needs to continue to be sedated for awhile longer to cope with the pain and anxiety. She is beginning to make tiny responses, such as turning her head toward voices or responding to touch. The family is rejoicing over that with hope that she will continue to progress and we all pray that the Lord will bless her with swift healing and protect her from more infections. She has such a very long road ahead. ~ ~ ~
~ I just love baby feet ~
