  • Yet ANOTHER New Phone

Well, my Alltel friends will get their wish...  After 6 years with T-Mobile, I'm going back to service with Alltel.  Not because I want to, but because I have to.

I got a call today from T-Mobile.  They were notifying me that I spend a great deal of my time in "Roaming" on someone else's network.  For that reason, they are ending my service on May 28.

Honestly, I was completely surprised.  I've never heard of a cell phone company canceling their customer's service unless they're not paying their bill.  I don't pay roaming charges with T-Mobile.  When I roam, my bill doesn't go up.  It always stays the same.  So they're probably having to pay another provider for my use of their tower, and they're not making any money off of me.  Ah, the joys of moving to a new place.  I'm not on roam where I live, but apparently I'm roaming everywhere else I... well... roam... from where I live.

The most annoying part about it is I just bought this phone.  And it won't work with Alltel.  Remember when I busted my phone a month ago?  Yeah.  At least this one only cost me $30.  I had to extend my contract to buy it though.  Fortunately, as far as I know, T-Mobile is not charging me a contract severance fee because I'm not the one backing out of my commitment.

Funny.  I just told a friend of mine two weeks ago who was trying to convince me to change services, "I doubt I'll ever change."

1 Chronicles 16:8 "Give thanks to the Lord, call on His name; make known among the nations what He has done."
