| | I FEEL BAD
Recently, I locked horns with a
customer and I really regret it and it weighs heavily on me. Like
normally when I get annoying emails I just don't let it bug me, but
this guy said some uncool things about my dad. That to me was a
low blow because I just don't like anybody taking shots at my
dad. He's my dad. So I sent an email and said some things
that I now regret. It's really not like me to insult anyone but
it's like that scene in Tommy Boy when they like whap the peaceful
buddhas knowing that nothing will happen to them because they are all
so serene until one of them just loses it and goes Kung Fu on them.
I mostly regret that I insulted the person's work. That was so
not like me. Anyway, I learned a great thing from Gavin De
Becker's book, "The Gift Of Fear" about altercations with strangers,
and he has a basic rule about arguing, "engage and enrage". So we
cancelled the person's order and I'm not going to write back again,
understanding that it is far better to part ways. Anyway if that
person is reading this, this is why I don't read your emails. And
if I don't read them, I won't respond to them either. Let's just
part ways and I'm sorry I struck back at you.
