 Melissa's
friend Brian is a fan of Jill Sobule, the singer/songwriter. What
a small world. Most of you know her through her hit song, "I
Kissed A Girl" where she did that hilarious MTV video with Fabio where
Fabio is the doting husband and they are having a picnic and Jill is so
uninterested in Fabio but totally gets all worked up over this other
girl at the picnic, then rejects Fabio - it is hilarious.
 I first saw Jill at the Universal
Ampitheater and she had two standing ovations in the packed concert
hall, playing just her guitar. I was like wow who is this - then
the next day I bought her album. Fate kept turning its' wheel and
I kept running into her.I ran into her backstage at a Kenny
Loggins concert (she was the opening act), and it is a long and
interesting story but soon she came to work at my studio numbering negs
and assisting at weddings. We became friends because she's just
freaking hilarious.
In
that year before I knew her I just totally went nuts over her first
album. Then it was so interesting to hear her in the next room
answering the phone, "Storybook... this is Jill" My friend at the
time Ken said, next thing you know George Harrison will be numbering
your negs LOL!
I remember she was writing the
song, "Couple on the Street" at my studio, and she played the beginning
ideas for me and my friend Stan who owned the lab I was using.
One night we had a backyard concert, and I played bass with her on her hit song, "Too Cool to Fall In Love"... CLICK HERE TO HEAR THE SONG.
Anyway I just talked to Jill and she is on tour and playing in L.A. and
I haven't seen her in so long. If you do not have any of her
albums - PLEASE go to the music store and get her self-titled CD.

into your itunes - there is an album you MUST buy this album - it is
the first album I ever got of hers and it is amazing... download it at
apple's itunes music store! Let's all buy one! Let's
surprise her by selling 90,000 copies of this album ok?
