ADAM'S MOVIE "THE UNION" WAS A STANDING OVATION HIT!
IT IS SWEEPING FILM FESTIVALS ALL AROUND NORTH AMERICA
It is so exciting thinking of what it must be like to be Adam Scorgie right now. He's been working on this documentary film about the secret Marijuana industry for two years, and I'm sure at times it's been lonely and I'm sure at times it's been discouraging. And regardless, when you make an independent film it costs hundreds of thousands of dollars with absolutely no guarantee of success, in fact there are SO many films submitted for consideration to these prestigious film festivals, all with directors and producers with high hopes and dreams, and success anoints itself only on a very very few.
So to be here and watch the riotous response of the completely sold-out (weeks in advance) screening of "The Union" was just so awesome. I was introduced to the film because Adam is our personal assistant Lauren's boyfriend, and he's now my friend. I am always so inspired by people with passion and dreams - who GO FOR IT. So to watch the groundswelling of international success of his film is just an absolutely awesome thing to witness.
This is the first time I'd ever seen the whole film - for some reason when we got a private screening of it at our theater in the ranch, the DVD kept skipping, so we missed some parts. But we had never seen it with a large audience at a movie theater. The crowd went nuts. And for good reason - this film is jaw-dropping. Their covert work in exposing the secret underground of the multi-billion dollar marijuana industry is transforming.
After the film ended, there was a question-answer session between the audience and Adam and the director Brett Harvey. The most insistent question was, "when is this going to be available on DVD???" Melissa said it's probably kids wanting to play the movie for their parents! HAHA Hilarious!
