Why We Should Never Trust the Mainstream Media
Most of the media outlets do little, if any, exploration of their own anymore. This is especially true of newspapers. They will use Associated Press or Reuters news services and just regurgitate what they send over the wires. Here is an excellent example:
On the left "A Palestinian woman weeps during the funeral of Mohammed Fara in Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip, Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2005. Fara, 45, who died in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday was killed when a metal fuel tank he was drilling through accidently exploded, a Palestinian investigator said. (AP Photo/Hatem Moussa)"

On the right "Palestinian relatives of Mohammad Al-Qara, 45, who was killed by Israeli troops on Tuesday, mourn during his funeral in Abassan village, southern Gaza Strip December 13, 2005. Israeli troops firing into the Gaza Strip killed a Palestinian man on Tuesday near the boundary where militants and soldiers have exchanged fire in recent days, Palestinian witnesses and medics said. (REUTERS/Ibraheem Abu Mustafa)"
Huh? Aren't these two women actually the same woman? And if so, exactly what are the odds that a relative of Mohammad Al-Qara is also friend of Mohammed Fara, and that both had a funeral on the same day, and at about the same time of day? And that the backgrounds behind the woman/women look strikingly similar?
MY OWN COMMENT: AND WHAT"S THE CHANCE THAT THE CAMERA CAPTURES BOTH OF THEM BEING GRABBED FROM THE RIGHT SIDE BY SOMEONE"S ELSE HAND?
But this can't be, because one was from the AP and one was from Reuters. One was done by Hatem Moussa and the other by Ibraheem Abu Mustafa.
Is she some "super special celebrity guest mourner"? Is she simply related to two men that both had simultaneous funerals by the same funeral director? Is she a twin? And why would the AP even care of some poor Joe died when a metal fuel tank he was drilling through accidently exploded - I mean, how is this 'world news'?
And people wonder why so many of us distrust the mainstream media.
