FOR THOSE WHO WILL JOIN THE MARINES THIS SUMMER...

I got update real quick because I won't be in front of a computer for the rest of the day...

I've noticed that there's been in the couple of weeks and recent months alot more people who have been visitng my Xanga or subscribed that will be joining the Marines; its an interesting steady stream of you out there

So in light of this fact, I thought this entry might somewhat be of interest to you prior to boot camp

I find the fact amazing that the Marines have managed to maintained its recruitment projections at a time when other services are suffering for man power

(Perhaps the Marines are a small branch? But I think there's more to it than that)

I thought I share this video newsclip about the intro into the Marines Boot Camp when you are at what the marines term as "recieving" with you all this afternoon

"GET OFF MY BUS!!!" and the Yellowfoot prints...

And those Drill INstructors with those weird Voice and Campaign Covers (translation: their Smokey BEar Hats)

Its a mad DogHOUSE

Fortunately for me, that was almost four years ago

Unless there is a draft I doubt you will ever see me in uniform (and even then I would be in the Medical Corpse) I'm glad brave souls have what it takes to protect freedom.

I haven't ever had a class with him, as I'm only a freshman! But my boyfriend has had some with him, and has told me alot about it. I have heard him speak quite a few times though, which is amazing! With Calvinism, I heard that he and his brother are having a debate this upcoming fall with some people on the topic of Calvinism. I'm eager to hear that!! But that is really all I know. Just wondering... why are you so curious?

I was behind all week on your site. I read the whole week's posts . . . I love what you write and share. That video (Wong Fu's I'm Yours MV) was superb! I hope that I can do better in keeping up! 5 more weeks of school, & then I'll have more time on my hands! That's great that you are planning to go on to seminary. What is your major at this time while you are at UCLA? Have a wonderful weekend!

God and Jesus is, whether the athiests believe or not. So nothing they say, really makes any difference.

My daughters xanga automatically signs in, whenever I come back online, and I keep forgetting that, so the above comment was really me. Yikes!

I always thought I would sort of like boot camp. You should write some of your funny experiences, if there were any. When do you start your security job  for the summer?

See ya later

Yes Jim you can use anything I share on my site or yours . I did say that I got this from Adrin Rogers' site " Love Worth Finding " , his work continues even with his passing .

I pray God's continued blessing on your ministry with Him .

My ('American adoptive') gramp was encouraging me a couple of months ago to consider joining the marines.  They have all these good advantages.. and well, some not so good. But it's not m calling there, as far as I now... for now? ..lol.

Well the answer to your question.  I am originally from the Ivory Coast, West Africa.  My dad was born and brought up in the muslim culture (he's now Christian).  His relatives and decendants are from some Northern African countries.  My dad's side of the family lives about 3-4 hours north of Abidjan (the city area we resided).  I still remember the culture, the ways of living, my grandma (how much I miss her.).. I love the culture and am open to many others.  It facisnates me but I also see how much these Islamic people need Jesus in their lives.  God placed before me some muslims that I was able to minister to.  One guy I met, Tony, was from Cairo, Egypt.  His family holds high status in his country.  I became very good friends with him couple of years ago before moving away to College.  The amazing thing about having a 'relationship' with him was the ability to build a first a friendship with him and having the chance to minister to him.

Before I left for College, God allowed something to happen.  I bought him an NIV easy scripture Bible for an exchange of His Koran.  He kissed it and told me 'this is my life', and told to take care of it.  Imagine that, for a muslim accepting a Bible in exchange of giving up his Koran?!  I've lost contact with him, but I still think of him and wonder if God changed his life around.  OH how much I pray that it happens with all my heart!  Thank God that he used me to reach out to him during those times...

But for me, it is an advantage to reach out to the muslims. They are wonderful people, but just lost in a big way.  It can be dangerous though in some ways reaching out to them, but when God appoints something, if you're willing to be the vessel that he will use for His name to be glorified, then so be it. You want to reach a muslim?  Just be a friend.  It's that simple.  You'd be surprised...

God bless you, and I pray that you will have many opportunites to minister to these group of people.  Take care!! -Eunice

Soooo, today I went online to UCLA and it says they are STILL reviewing my application for the fall. I am in desperation. I just want to get out of freaking junior college! Anyway, I thought I would update you. I'll let you know what happens.
I'm nervous. ::shakes::::

It was good to see you and Nancy last night! I hope I can come more often.... I love Tony, his study last night was exactly what I needed to hear.
