A POLITICAL THURSDAY...Woke up today, voted online for the Student Body's election for the Conservatives on Campus
They are trying to advocate Student fee being voluntary instead of compulsion (currently, the funds are collected and distributed to different causes and clubs, some of which might be against a student's conscience)

I guess I woke up and the political animal in me came out too
It's been asleep for a while, and the "Werewolf" hadn't been under any full moon if you catch what I am saying...
While trying to drive to Church, the police sealed the streets a block from where I live and the Bomb Squad was there too and I wonder what that was all about

Called the Governor's OFFICE at (916) 445-2841 while I was driving to oppose and veto two bills
The day before, on Wednesday, a friend of mine met with the major of my city asking him for us to meet a candidate for State Assemby...long story short, nearly two years ago, our current liberal Assemblywoman has not been supportive for a Veteran's project that my friends and I were trying to introduce and has been very unprofessional to us in their attitudes, run around and even lying to us about dates to introduce bills
So now this friend of mine (who ran for City Council Last year, if you were following my Xanga then) and his former Overseeing Campaign Manager (AKA 'Gideonrecon') will be campaigning to some extent perhaps for "the other guy" as the "season" comes around this fall (we'll see)
There's many other stuff that's on my plate, but my busy schedule have been hindering me from them;
I believe that as a Christian and as a Citizen I am compelled to be involved in my local community, to know my neighbor, to know what my local leaders are doing (and hold them accountable) and perhaps make a small contribution to the neighborhood
Hopefully, in the next couple of month I can share a bit more as potential projects unfold...
For tonight, I have to try to finish my JOHN LOCKE's Political Theory readings though...
IT's getting late. |
