SATURDAY MORNING CARTOON WITH THE JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES?

I got to talk to two Jehovah's Witnesses today who came by at my door

IF you know me, you know that I love talking to Jehovah's Witnesses; I really love witnessing to them!

There's so many topics to pursue with them, I don't know where to begin!

Somehow God guided the conversation to one that focused on sin...I had my Bible just next to the door (from yesterday evening after Church) so it was rather convenient that I was "armed" and I thought I did a good job in explaining TOTAL DEPRAVITY

I told my younger sister to run to my bedroom and bring my Jehovah's Witnesses Bible; She came out with a Mormon one, and I told her she got the wrong one, and I needed the Jehovah's Witnesses one

(I think the Jehovah's Witnesses were a bit uncomfortable)

I ran into my room real quick and searched my desk, only to realized that I had bought it to my UCLA apartment...because sometimes my Pastor and I confront the JWs during our evangelism

I usually use that Jehovah's WItnesses Bible because its V-E-R-Y O-L-D, IT"S AN ANTIQUE ACTUALLY! It's printed in 1920ish and I like using it because most of them do not recognize its' a Watch TOwer Bible...

When I give some verse to back up my position that would be different in their NEW WORLD TRANSLATION (NWT; by the way, they twisted the Word of God in various places), they often say, "Oh, you have a Bad Bible, our translation is accurate", etc

THE JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES ARE RATHER STUCK ON THE AUTHORITY OF ONLY RELYING UPON THINGS THAT ARE PRINTED BY THE WATCHTOWER and a strong distrust of everything else

IN which case, I show them that my Blue Bible that I was using was a Jehovah's Witnesses one, publish by them in the 20's and revealing how they now twist the text in the newer NWT

Anyways, I'm learning Ancient Greek right now at UCLA,

And one of our first assignment was John 1:1, which our professor translated, and I wanted to show the two friendly Jehovah's Witnesses my assignment

But then I also wanted to dig out some old XEROX copies of false prophetic claims of the WATCHTOWER that I made at Fuller Seminary back when I was in High School...

All these things! YEt, our friendly Jehovah's Witnesses was too busy....

Hi Jimmy

You are a very busy guy!! Pray for me this week... I am going to be helping at a ladie's leadership retreat in Laos. I need a boost... if anything gets accomplished for His kingdom He gets all the glory. Cus for sure it won't be because of me. I am one tired and stressed out vessel right now.

Wow......how cool! I bet they 'love' to come up to someone like you lol lol.....I do have to give them credit though...they do get out there and go door to door...too bad they are not on the right path....have to pray their eyes are opened to the truth!

wow that's very brave of you. the last time i had talked to a JW i had told them that I was a christian and they just said "oh well that's very good.." and then they handed me one of those magazines. God would have to give me a lot of courage and strength to be able to do what you did.

I found a bible in our chirstian bookstore here that has 3 translations -NKJ, NIV, and Greek - i forgot what the bible is called but it was very very interesting. the greek translation was of course written in greek letters but under each greek letter or word or whatever it is they had translated it in english in a very very small print. it's a great way to learn greek and plus it's word by word. i really want to get it but it was a little expensive at the bookstore. i'll probably look it up in amazon to see if they have any. i had forgotten the exact name that was in the front cover but it is a bible that has 3 translation in every page so it's a pretty think book. i'll try to look up the name and i'll let you know when i find it.

RYC: Right now i'm going for dental assistance, it's a 3-semester program, then i'm planning on applying for the dental hygiene program it's a 3 year program. in the future, God willing, I might apply for dental school and get a doctorate, but i would have to move to another city or state even. that's my plan so far but God can always change it and I'm open for that.

I think they would give me a headach like the VOICE , their group leader have them run away afterone of them come under conviction so good luck with a group of them Jim .

Jehovah's Witnesses are really hard to get to listen to you. I have a couple friends, best friends actually, that just won't listen to anything I ever say. It can be quite frustrating. I'm glad you've been equipped so well to deal with them more effectively. It's sad that they still refuse to listen though, it's such a sick twisted view, it really makes my heart sad.

There are alot of Mormon missionaries here all over, usually are Americans dressed with long sleeves and ties. They never came here though, I think they only go to Mormon families' houses.

We have our usual visit from the JW group too. I talk to them...they give me their little book and I take it....there is no use arguing with them.

My son took Greek in college....Xanga - Not_Track_Five...he loved it!!

Hi. That is a very interesting occurence you had. I can only imagine what they were thinking when you ran to get your support documents... What motivates you to work so hard everyday? I wish I new that God is who motivates me. But I think I am struggling with laziness right now...amongst many other sins. But I hope you are blessed again!

At my house 8 or 9 JWs come to my door about every other week. I don't know why, but they do. I used to witness to them and pass out my booklets to them that I received from one of my doctors. They were from R.B. Thieme, JR Bible Ministries. I don't know if you are familiar with them. I think they have a web site www.rbthieme.org. That would usually get them perplexed enough to question their faith and they would leave because they had lack of answers to my questions. I think they have been sending reenforcements since then because now I have to tell them other things to get them to leave. Sometimes I pretend not to speak english if I am really busy. I am ashamed to say I have even told them I am Jewish to get them to leave.
