PREACHED TONIGHT...

Wow, after such tiring and tough time in classes (I'm behind with my greek since the Marines Reserve this past weekend!),

What joy it was to preach for our fellowship Bible Study tonight...

It was on the Introduction to Galatians and the first five verses of the 1st Chapter...

There's very few things that beats the joy of being able to preach verse by verse and draw out insights, observations, give illustrations, analogies, observe the grammar and its ramification, and trying to exhort, encourage, and explain Biblical Truths!

There's several people that I've been concerned about in regards to their walks in the Lord...I wonder sometimes if these people know how much it burdens my heart to see them like this...

I gotta get back to the books...

Thanks Bro for stopping by!  It was a good time and I find it easier to relate the Biblical message to the church in a foreign land.  The members are hungry in many ways.  constant feeling of impermance hunts them, and sense of alienation is a part of their everyday life.  With these real life experience, Bible comes alive.  I am so greatful to God for giving me this opportunity.  Preach it my friend!!  Nothing is more joyful than telling people about God and His Word!  BR

Jim From what I read about people like Billy Gram and others is that when they step up to preach the power of Holy Spirit comes to them in a way that allows them to over come fatigue , illness , and even age if old or very young . This fades as they finish what God had them share with others and even though they may still be pumped up after they still need to take time to rest . Look for balance and rest so not to hurt your temple or creativeness . I understand through the 3rd REM cycle of sleep is when your thoughts are finished sorting and stored from that day and chemicals are released that help refresh your creative gifts and nature . I know God can and does bring what you need in a crunch but he provides wisdom to help avoid the crunch if we listen and seek proper balance in Him . You and Ross remain in my prayers as you grow in His ministry . God bless your sleep and waking hours my brother !

In His faith , your brother in Jesus .

Barry

Your concern strikes me in relation the most. I hate to think that I'm missing out alot of my friends around campus talking to them about Christ, I don't know how to start a conversation about the bible when everyone's minds are set on the 'here' and 'now'. That reality and the joy I have to this people while missing out the opportunity to put Christ into their hearts saddens me when I think about it.

Oops! That was supposed to by "Lyn Yutang!" He was a Chinese writer from the early 1900's. I just really liked that quote.

Gal 1, huh? cool. I love how Paul shows his humility in that opening statement about him being an apostle. Reminds me to be humble in my so-called work status. Thanks for the challenge to study! Send another verse my way!

Take care.

see, that's the problem!

college here in nz is probably the equivalent to high school in the USA, and i honestly have no idea what else to call it. back in malaysia where i came from "college" actually means university level... it's so confuzzling i dont know what to think anymore. here we just call it 7th form... or year 13.

...sibz...

I agree that studying, learning, sharing, teaching (or preaching) exegetically through God's Word is such a joy. RYQ-#1: The song that we sang as a child is a real song, and has been a blessing through the years. RYQ-#2: One of the blessings for me is meeting Christian brothers and sisters from around the world, of various nations, nationalities, etc. Having spent 9 of my most important (influentially on my life) years in various areas of the Philippines, I will always feel like a part of the Philippines. God has privileged me to meet quite a few people from around the world on Xanga, including over 10 Filipinas & Filipinos! ~ Have a wonderful weekend, Jim. I hope that you are able to get rested up! ~ Your Sister in Christ...Carolyn
