Happy Happy!
Happy Holidays from the MonkeyGnomes (thanks to Bekah for leading us to such merriment)!
* * *Ok, so it's been something like seven months since I've chimed in. It's not for lack of intention (I've got several half-written posts still stored up in my private posting). These days, a large chunk of time at the computer is rare. Very rare. Our little Bump turned 1 on the 2nd. ONE! She is walking (running!) and trying to talk (oh, she has the sweetest little voice), dancing (!), climbing anything and everything, eating many new grown-up foods, laughing at the right moments at jokes, making her own jokes (her timing is impeccable), and driving around a lot (it started with the Stride-to-Ride, which was fun, but killing our backs, and then we got the Push Buggy¹ for her birthday and she LOVES it). I couldn't even begin to list all the wonderful marvels she's revealed to us in the past year, but I will post a few pics for you few readers who I may still have...

She's practicing the cell-phone-driving skills.

The eating of the birthday cake. With much glee in squishing.
* * *In other news, we MonkeyGnomes have relocated ourselves further up the eastern part of the country. We're missing our pals in South Carolina (miss you guys!! hugs! you know who you are!), as well as our house (which is for sale, so if you know of someone in need of a fab house with a fab pool, let me know, will you?), as well as the warm weather (we heard it was near 80 this week). We are in central New York, lavishing ourselves with lots of snow. Hmmm.
Ok, I will try to make it less drought-like with coming posts. Maybe more small ones. Or something.
I probably will not make another peep till the holidays are over....hope you all have a wonderful Christmas/Hanukkah/hanging out in the winter air. Take good care! Will try making my regular blog-read rounds soon. Happy Happy!!

Happy Mother's Day
I am ecstatic to be able to celebrate this holiday as a mother as well as a daughter this year. Mommy, I finally understand and appreciate tremendously what a wonderful job you did as our mother and hope that I can be as great a mother to my daughter. Thank you for being such a beautiful example.

Happy Mother's Day to all you mommies out there. What a wonderful club to belong to!

Quick Peep!
Happy spring, y'all! Thanks to all of you who've sent sweet emails or left lovely comments welcoming Quynh into our family. It's been such a full, wondrous time! Apologies for the ridiculously large spans of non-blog activity...being a mom has been such an amazing adventure that I don't want to miss a moment of it. Subsequently, quality online time has diminished nearly completely. Not a complaint, just a mere fact these days. Someday, I will pen the birth story.
For now, here are some fun pics to demo what's up:

lots of fun playing and laughing and just plain having fun. started yoga for mommies and babies last week (same place where I had been taking prenatal yoga before), got a st. patty's weekend visit from my ever fab lizzie, taking lots and lots of pics of the absolute joy of our lives (who is now rolling from side to side, drooling like no one's business, giggling, cooing and chatting, and nearly sleeping all through the night **knock on wood!**)...
Will hopefully swing by to visit all my fave old blog haunts soon. Take good care and enjoy SPRING!

Three Weeks!
It was three weeks ago today that Monkey and I welcomed our sweet little girl, Quynh, into our family. I shall fill in birth story details later, but for now, I thought I'd peep and tell you about the absolute love of our lives (we are so smitten in love with this sweet little being). We are so glad to be sharing this Christmas with the newest member of our family (and we were so lucky to celebrate early Christmas with doting (and extremely, wonderfully helpful) aunties and grandparents!!) and send happy holiday wishes to you all (friends, apologies in advance; we didn't get around to sending out Christmas cards this year!). Merry Christmas from our little family to yours!

39 Weeks and Lots of Thanksgiving!
Oy, the nesting bug has struck! It's crazy it's been a month again between postings...we've been nestingnestingnesting for the past month or so. How that is possible is sad (we started well behind the ball because we still had unpacking and reorganizing of things from the move in the spring to do on top of buying and organizing baby things), but I am glad to report that we now finally feel ready enough for Bump's arrival (still must take pics of the nursery!). Good thing, since we're now at 39 weeks. We are due in 1 week, people! And today's visit with the doctor (though not a surefire indicator) tells us we are not dilated. At all. And my folks are coming to visit soon....starting to feel like a watched kettle!
But! I am so thankful for all this time...to fully bake this little bun, to appreciate every moment of positive development, to make our house a homey home for our little person to come into, to relish the experience of being pregnant and carrying this little person throughout this journey. What a wonderful trip! I am very excited to meet this little person soon...it's only a matter of weeks (days?!) now! At this time last year, I never would've imagined getting this far in the path to parenthood. What a wondrous dream to be where we are today!
I've been so thankful for all the great people who've come along on this journey with us! I *LOVE* all the advice you experienced mommies have emailed me (I truly appreciate it, so keep it coming!). I love all the sweet baby goodness showered on me by leagues of fabulous folks. The dear Paper Princess, Leslie, and Lizzie coordinated a most wonderful surprise online shower, and so many friends (online and otherwise left behind when we moved) sent so much love with all the goodies for our little Bump. And Monkey's office got in on the game and showered us with more baby necessities and goodies. We are well set for this little person's arrival, thanks so much to all the wonderful folks we've been lucky enough to know. THANKS to you all! You've warmed our hearts through and through and made making ready for Bump so easy and so much fun!
Speaking of all Thanks, I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Monkey and I had our very own Thanksgiving meal for the first time ever (we usually trek to family, so this is the first we ever hosted for ourselves!) this year, and it was spectacular. We're all about the sides. We had so many--5 sides for the roasted turkey breast--for just the two (threeish) of us. Monkey is such a fantastic chef. I got to play sous-chef and helped prep, but he was the man of magic who conjured up the most wonderful eats (which were then reincarnated into delicious goods every day of the 4-day weekend). I am such a lucky gal. Of course, Casey got to partake as well.
I wouldn't be where I am today without this wonderful man by my side!
I am looking to be super effective and tie up all the rest of the tidying (my craft room, really) this week so that we will be 100% ready when Bump decides "it's time." So if you don't hear a peep from me until Bump's arrival, you'll know why. I thank you all for going along on this ride with us. So much fun! Will keep you posted, promise! Until then, take good care, enjoy the festivities of the holiday season, and chat with you all soon! Big Bumpy Hugs!!
