I know, I am several days late in wishing in the New Year, but hey, what can I say? I try to march to the beat of a different drum! (My kids all tell me I have no rhythm...but boy, do I like to try!)

I literally have only a moment before we need to head out the door. My husband and I are traveling up to Kansas City for the night. He is going to be "wined and dined" by business associates, and I get to tag along!

We will be staying at the Embassy Suites on the Plaza. I googled some pictures so you could see just where I'm going.

Pretty great, huh? Okay, okay, so I just threw the picture of the pool in there for fun. I won't actually BE in it. I plan to bring a good book and relax. If it were warmer (and not right after Christmas...then I would have some money!) I would probably head out to the Plaza and shop. I know I will browse the Hotel and get a look see.

Have a great weekend y'all! Hopefull Go Granny will not be on the go so much and get around to saying "hey" to all her beloved friends! I miss you all!

Don't you just love hotels? I dearly love to stay in them...for a short time.......even the best get old after a long spell of it but I do enjoy a nice hotel. Grab a suit and use that pool and hot tub.........ahhhh. Lovely! Have fun! You are 150 miles from us, we are right off I35. Come by and sit with me on the red porch swing.........but inside the house would be even better in this weather!

Well that looks like fun! (I rarely use hotel pools as they are usually right out in the open for all to see...ME!)

ooohhhh....looks fancy. Have a great time relaxing with a good book...that's exactly what I would be doing as well....I love to read. And have a lot of books to prove it...never can seems to get rid of the books I buy...just love the way they look on my bookshelves...lol. Have a Blessed Day!

The last time my family and I were in an Embassy Suites was when STL was hit with that huge storm knocking out power for 600,000 people and that tree fell on the house puncturing a hole in our roof. I had an out-of-town visitor as well, and none of the cheap hotels had any space available. You guessed it - The Embassy Suites downtown had rooms!

Still, for as hard of a time as that was, that hotel housed the five of us comfortably, and had complementary Scotch every evening.

Now ... I know you had a great time there!! That is a beautiful place! So what floor were you on? Heights make me nervous! I'm late in getting over here too, and seeing how you've been! Did you know we were moving ... I've been so scattered lately, I wasn't sure if I told you or not! Yep, in March ... around the first ... and it has hardwood floors!!! The basement has burbur carpet with a kitchenette, bath and private entrance for Ian when he gets home from CA! I did post pictures a few days back. Come by when you can! I'd love to hear how you are doing! I like that profile picture! Have a great week, my friend ... and Happy New Year to you, too!!

Hope you had a nice relaxing weekend! The place looks awesome! Our fam was in KC, KS this past week. I actually thought about you and MajorMom and justmomma and the possibility that we all may get to meet in the future. Exciting!

HAPPY NEW YEAR (LATER YET) FROM ME! I'm getting back into the "swing of things" (I hope I'm not being overly optimistic!), & am trying to get caught up on my Xanga friends, & my 2nd Xanga site (this one from which I am writing)! I've read back over some of your posts, and really enjoyed them ... esp. the one about your hsuband's version of falling in love with you when you were hanging from the monkey bars at your school! (My husband and I stood in front of his old elementary school once, & he said: "You weren't even thought of when I went here! --He is 6-1/2 years older than I am, & we didn't meet until I was out of college.) I do see you occasionally over at Vickie's site. Looking forward to seeing current pix of your "grands"! ~ Carolyn
