It's Time....

Yes!  I know it is!!  It is HARD to get back into the habit of blogging...of even reading my subs!  I have been so busy for such a long time, that now it seems odd to be on xanga.  BUT!  That can change right?  And people can change...if not, I might as well give up the ghost right now!

So, I am here, reading subs, and forcing myself to get back into the habit.  It's especially hard since I discovered we can now get my favorite cable channel....HGTV!!!  For whatever reason, it's "bleeding" through with our other channels...and I know from past experience that it will probably disappear as quickly as it came (same thing happened with SciFi and Hallmark, but alas, they are no more), but until then I shall enjoy it.

However, I don't want it to keep me (any longer! =o>) from my xanga friends.  I really do have some dear friends on here, that I care about, therefore, I must keep in touch.  Nuff said...on to greener pastures.....

Prayer request:  My son-in-law Travis is in the hospital for the second time since Thanksgiving.  They are trying to get his asthma under control.  His medications are causing his blood pressure and heart rate to rise.  He will be in at least until Sunday or Monday.  His family is watching the baby, while Myklin is trying to be there for her hubby.  I am on call to see if they need me.  Appreciate any prayers you can send their way.

Happiness:  Having grandkids living next door!  What a blessing it has been to have those sweet babies so close!  I know they will be there only a short time, so I am getting all I can get....without being a pain.  Love having Faith run to me with her arms open wide when I walk in the door.  Love seeing Micah do his "superman" impression on the floor, all the while drooling and grinning happily.  Love hearing Faith say "Ewww!!!" when brother slobbers on her.  I know that great-grandma and grandpa are loving having the kids stay with them as well.  Lots of time is spent every day just playing.

Note to self:  Next time be cautious about setting Comet down next to a bowl of grapes on the countertop.  (Ewww!!!)

Forgot:  How great the music was to National Treasure.  Currently watching it with my hubby, and when the music came on, it gave me goose-bumps.  Good stuff Maynard.

Had a great fall:  I took a fall a couple of days ago.  We had some ice falling, and I tell you the truth, it looked wet, but not slick.  I walked into our barn, careful to step up over the threshold, and thought, "Boy!  That is slick!!!"  I walked back out the door not 20 seconds later (forgetting ALREADY how slick it was), and before I knew it, I was flat on my back on the ground.

Michael is very happy I didn't bust my head open, as it hit rather hard on the door.  I could have hit it on the concrete or the threshold.  I landed with my back smacking not only the ground but the threshold (And again, Mike is happy I didn't break my back or neck).  The threshold is pretty high, I'd say 6 inches or so.  Also grateful I could get up and not lay out there for a long time before anyone came looking for me.  Bruised and sore, but God was watching over me!

Reminds me of a little skit I did as a kid....We acted out Humpty Dumpty and said:
Humpty Dumpty sits on a wall, prior to his fall.
Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall,
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.
All the king's horses and all the king's men,
COULD put Humpty together again.

But the next day....

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall,
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.
All the king's horses and all the king's men,
COULDN'T put Humpty together again.....

So they all had scrambled eggs for breakfast!

Blessings y'all!  Don't break a leg!
Granny

You have been missed. I love hearing of your adventures...well except when you go do something silly like fall in the snow/ice! Prayers for Travis. My DH has been there many times. They still do not know what it is..going on 3 years now. Enjoy those grands while ya got em! NT does have excellent music indeed. Love the Humpty Dumpty joke. Don't be a stranger...and don't set any more comet on the sink next to grapes. Yuk!

Many people in this area of Southern Iowa have fallen on the ice and broken cabooses but so far no noodles. Glad you were not hurt.

Hey how are you??? Was nice reading your blog.. I havent been on since 9/2006... I am actual moved now and in my new church been here for a year this use to be victory in christ or something to that effect but I am now on myspace I do not blog that much. I made the xanga just to stop into a few friends which i found on myspace that I actualy grew close to..  I actualy have a son with asthma so I know how you feel.. I remember when they put him on flovent that was the best meds.. But know he is older and not living with mom so they have him back on the old stuff and something else. I see when he gets stressed it doesnt work. I reminded up of the meds he was on that worked. I pray your son is healed by the stripes and wounds of Jesus christ..  Well nice to stop in.. Jenna

Praying for Travis (so is my church family). J. is waiting to hear back from Quik Trip. That is the best lead/interview he's had so far. I'm starting to not be so positive, as it's been a week since he interviewed. They said "don't call us". They'll either call him if he has the job, or send a letter if he doesn't. Sure hoping the phone would ring!!! Drive safely if and when you head south.

Hey, hey, hey!  You're back!  So good to see you again!

I figured you must have been busy with redoing your home and enjoying those grandbabies!  : )

It's great that you are going to continue to blog.  And girlfriend...please don't get comet on your grapes for pity's sake. ; )  And...for another thing....be careful with all the ice!  Yikes!

In all seriousness, that must have scared the daylights out of you falling flat on your back like that.  Poor thing!  Glad you're okay.  : )   Thanks for stoppin' by!  Love to you!   ~Amelia  P.S.  Don't stay gone so long.  We'll have to come looking for you next time. ; )

I hope (& pray) that you are feeling well, and not having any more problems from your fall. I had to laugh when I read your poem. When I was a little girl, I used to get the Humpty Dumpty magazine. One time  the following poem was in the magazine: Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall, Humpty Dumpty had a great fall. All the king's horses and all the king's men, couldn't put Humpty together again.   But an American doctor with patience and glue, Put Humpty together, better than new. And now he is busy and back on the scene, Putting together your next magazine.
