  • Todays an iced Tea day

    I had to chuckle at this weeks baby update on my ticker at the top of the page.  The questions people ask about pregnancy are always the same, and I always have the same response..."you look great for 6 months!"..."just give me until the end of summer!"  I should start thinking of new responses...don't get me wrong, I love that people say that this time around. With hosanna I mostly got looks of great sympathy, as I gained, and gained, and gained weight. ha ha. Ah, it was fun while it lasted. You don't get to eat like that everyday!

    We've been spending time at the lake...I love the lake. I love swimming. I always have. Its fun this year to watch hosanna explore the water more.  I think she'll be quiet the little swimmer by the end of summer.

    Speaking of hosanna (hee hee) does anyone have a good remedy for eye colds??  Hosanna's got quite the doosey right now, her nose is a faucet, and the cold has gotten into her eyes...she hasn't had a proper nap in 4 days, and night times have been tough!  The remedy I know to work best I can not express currently due to pregnancy (if you don't know what I'm talking about, don't you worry about it)  So I'm looking for a remedy.

    we are into dr's...so i don't have any other idea than that.  he's had one and they were dreadfull eyedrops given...ugh! 

    Glad the pregnancy is going so well...and that you are getting out to the lake...my lil guy LOVES water, he thinks he can swim too, he tried to just take off...he's my lil crazy!

    Oh bummer. i was going to say breast milk. hah. Read my second post back. I love using that stuff for all sorts of ailments. hehe

    you and I have switched with pregnancies. With Story I was so fit and active, so busy all the time. With this one it's like I'm just around the house with Story so I just eat... and I think I'm gaining more than last time. dang.

    yeah.. Luke loved that pic a ton too. I knew when I caught her with that little look by the barn I had a keeper photo. BTW: It was late and I was tired I uploaded a bunch of pics to my xanga and realized they all had something to do with horses and/or Hosanna so....yeah

    Are you referring to breastmilk? If not, I'm curious! I'm really sad that my faucets are dried up. BM is so great for everything! I wish I had lots stocked in the freezer.

    Yay swimming! I can't wait to get Judith to my parents' cottage this summer!

    I was going to say breastmilk too! I don't know if you have one up there but Hobarts, a natural food store, carries eyedrops for eye infections etc..but I forgot the name. My mom used that stuff when she had an infection and it cured it. Sorry I can't remember the name!

    I never heard that stuff about breastmilk, how cool. I wish I had known before. So.. Hosanna is still nursing right? You can't even squeeze out a drop? Sorry if that's too personal! And sorry I don't have any advice.

    i was going to say breastmilk, too-- hudson had a little eye cold and i used breastmilk, and it cleared it up-- my dr. said that was probably just because it was rinsing his eye out-- so maybe if you just use those refresh saline drops--the kind that you put in without your contacts in--maybe that would rinse hosanna's eye.

    Elliott has had two eye colds. Awful...breastmilk was so wonderful for it. Do you know someone BF'ing that'd be willing to express a teeny bit for you? I don't know if that'd weird you out or not. :)
    But with Elliott it really helped to rub his little tear ducts every time they'd get congested.

    Hey somebody called me Thurs. eve. 9pm your time.  I am guessing it was Hosanna.  I called back & got no answer.  I've been trying to call.  I hope to find out Monday if I get that week vacation from the hospital; week of Joshua's birthday.  I have been worn out going straight from school to camp at the church.  I spent Thurs. with Matt, which was good.  Glad you & Hosanna are enjoying the water.  Have you gotten Josh to swim this year?  He should at least go play with Hosanna.  Tell everyone hi.  Love, Donna

    last time carmen had an eye/head cold, i got out the cool mist vaporizer and some vicks vaporub. its not exactly what its for, buuut it helped!
    and i wanna know this remedy. please share!

    nope, we're not still nursing. it got to the point where all he did was twist me, bite me, pinch me... I mean he still drank some but I think we both were not that into it anymore. We quit at 13 months. When I lost the baby, Caleb was just nursing once each morning and I just quit completely while I was in the hospital for those three days. I had planned to nurse "at least til one year" and then as long as we both wanted to and I had no idea how long that would be. Didn't turn out to be very long!! I also thought I'd be either pregnant or nursing for years, just keeping it going one after another, but that also didn't turn out the way I expected. Right now I don't miss nursing but when the next little one comes along I'll be excited about it!

    i don't have a good remedy either.. :( wow you must be so ehausted if she's not taking naps!!
