  • tattoo you

In light of yesterday's post.  Hosanna has had two wonderful days in a row. Mom(that would be grandma to hosanna) came to the rescue and took her shopping...which I hear solves life's problems for any girl. Hosanna came back with new pajama's, slippers, and boots. She jumped around the house excitedly putting clothes on, taking them off...wearing only boots, wearing only slippers...you get the idea. And today, Jesus loves Hosanna...there was snow on the ground when she woke up, so we broke in the new boots with some sledding time.
I hope from my post yesterday that no one thinks that I don't enjoy being a parent or anything like that. I adore it...jealousy and all. I do recognize that this will pass, and to be honest, I enjoy the journey.  I like watching Hosanna learn how to sort through her emotions. She's a very dynamic little girl, a lot like her daddy, when things are good they are real good...when they are bad...they are real bad. We've been teaching her lately that she doesn't have to get upset, that she can control her emotions...and really she's been doing so well in so many areas.

So, while Hosanna was out shopping last night. Josh was having his own little party. He welcomed Tattoo number two to his left arm. Our friend Ben is apprenticing right now and so we've all become subject to his work.  Josh got the thrill of being tattoo number two.  I'll let the pictures tell the work.

fun fun. I think I'm ready for mine now.  I've got virgin skin, so I was a little chicken...but eh! why not?  I want to be colorful oatmeal at the age of 80.

I believe it came from a needle and ink. Where's my dollar?

I would guess the tattoo is either related to the Hebrew Bible or to "Lost." If it's one of those two, can I at least get 50 cents?

I like the new look of the blog. It's easier to read. Looks spiffy. I know it's been this way for a while but just my 2 cents (sorry I can't offer more).

I have no idea but i want to know!  What are you thinking of letting him do???  so nice you guys are willing guinea pigs for your friend...i bet it's hard to get anyone to let you practice something so permanant.

I don't think anyone thought for a second you didn't enjoy being a parent!  There are always things that are difficult to deal w/ and talking about it just helps, i'm sure, probably some of the same things you're teaching hosanna.  i'm glad she got some great grandma time.

I'm so curious-I have no guesses  but am anxious to hear!! When are you guys heading this way?? Soon, I thinik!?

  • MyPrecious

    I know what it is!!!
But I can't say, cuz I guess I cheated by hearing it from your mouth.
    Bummer.
Which by the way I think it looks cool. From what you said it would be, I thought it would be. But it is.

And your last post is sad. I can't believe Hosanna said that! Or wait, yes I can. She is extreme like her Daddy. It will be very intersting to see how Zuri turns out! But I'm sure Hosanna will be friends with Zuri at least during some stages in life. I mean, Hannah and I were enemies, and then friends, and then enemies. That happens. heh.

I have no idea!  But, I really like the photo of him looking at his nails...that is pretty funny to me for some reason.  I like it.

It reminds me of those wooden things that has the word Jesus hidden in the non wooden parts. Is it something like that?

You know, I usually like my tatoo, but I agree with AdelaisMommy about virgin skin. It's just delicate and pretty on girls and tatoos take something of that away.

Josh reminds me so much of Dave.  Dave says the tattoo looks vaguely familiar, but he can't think of what it is.  No dollar for me.  American money isn't worth much anymore to us anyway.  = )

I let a girl who was apprenticing do a tattoo on me.  Now she is my designated "artist" and did my sleeve and several tattoos, and even moved out here to Calgary the same time we did.  I like having that relationship.  I desperately need to get more tattoos.  I miss the smell.  I've been pregnant or breastfeeding for 2.5 years.  That's a long time to go with no new ink, for me.  Personally, I hated having virgin skin, and I love my tattoos.  I figure wrinkly saggy old skin looks icky whether it's coloured or not, so why worry about what it will look like when I'm old?  Old people don't care anyway.  Maybe it will encourage me to stay healthy and fit when I get older.  The advice I'd give is make sure it is something really meaningful to you, that isn't going to change (like something about your faith or people/things you love and mean a lot to you), and come up with a design and then wait.  Time is a good test.  I always wait at least 6 months once I come up with a design.  If I still want it after 6 months I declare it safe.  I don't regret anything I've gotten, but there were a few ideas I had at one point or another that now I am SO glad I waited and then decided not to get.
