Is college education a must for most people in the modern world? Why or why not?
No. it's not.
I actually get quite tired of family thinking that it is.
Do what you think you're supposed to do. Love what you do.
We seem to think that life is a certain formula. Which for some, maybe it is. If you want to be a doctor, you can't just start operating one day...you need school. But maybe you want to start a business? That can easily be started with out college. Or maybe you want to be a mother....listening to the opinion of those who are with out children who will teach you to run a day care, will only teach you logic about children, not the reality of their indiviuality.
I just answered this Featured Question, you can answer it too!

Thanks for answering the question submitted by me.
If want to constantly struggle with finances like I have- then a college education isn't for you!Â
I think I could have done a better job taking care of the important things if I didn't have to continually worry about paying the heat bill, keeping the phone on, making the house payment blah blah blah. I think an education could have helped quite a bit in these areas and freed me up even more to take care of my family and minister effectively.College isn't for everyone. Considering the graduation rate, many start but do not finish because they realize along the way that they need to be doing something else. I'm not sure what "real world" means, but the Lord leads people in different directions.
True, true, true - to it all. I'm pretty sick of the "you have to have a college education to make it in this world" mentality, but I'm happier that Zach and I have been saved from the lies and are able to do what we want to do, and that we don't have to pressure our children to go to college. Honestly, I think college is more of the exception than the rule, you know?..I like the picture of Hosanna walking down the road in her pink jacket.
I agree. College is highly over-rated. I have come to decide that I am not going to go ot college. I don't want to deal with the debt, I want to be a mom most of all, and I can think of some things that I would like to do more then things that need some sort of degree. I have learn't from my mother that I can always go back and I can always keep options open. I wouldn't mind taking a class or two to keep myself updated on things that matter like computers and such. Or fun things like an art class.
But for me. I believe it is no loss to anyone if they do not attend college or a university.
People should stick that in their pipe and smoke it! *humph*
