| I didn't intend to write anything else here, but it turns out life is consistently unpredictable. I just spent the better part of an hour re-reading everything I had written in this weblog and it's surprising to me. Its seems so clear now that everything that I had been thinking, analyzing, and over-analyzing for the last two years would finally lead me to all those experiences during my year abroad in China, India, Thailand, Burma, and Vietnam. I admit that a year has changed me more than I imagined it would and I'm still trying to understand exactly how I can fit back into the world I left behind. I'll let you know :) | | |

| If I had to choose one picture to represent my summer...it would have to be this one (plus i'm way to lazy to post the others). Use your imagination...

| Ok, i'm really desperate here. I'm sitting in a drab, smoky, adolecent boys playing CS net bar at the foot of the holy Emei Shan in Si Chuan Provience (that's in China btw) and I can't for the life of me access my email. So I might as well write a tid-bite or two. Did you know that no one in China actually speaks Chinese (pu tong hua)? Shhh...its a secret. No but seriously, the accent is so thick (plus they use wrong that a "lao wai" like me has little chance of understanding much...but I get by somehow on my "hen cha de" mandarin. Tomorrow I ascend holy Buddhist mountain #3 Emei Shan (and probably my last before going home)! Gotta watchout for the monkeys I hear though. Hope you all are enjoying your last month on summer! | | |
