Stranger Things Have Happened, I Suppose...

Deja Vu All Over Again
By John Fogerty
see relatedSo I lost a pair of sunglasses. Last fall sometime. They were a $20 pair from American Eagle, so nothing special, but they were the first pair I'd managed not to break/sit on/crush or lose after owning for a week or so. And I liked how they looked, for whatever that is worth. I had them for over two years, and then suddenly, they were gone.
I tore apart the van in my search for them, went through Smiddy's car, searched the house, moved to a new house and vainly hoped to find them in each box I unpacked, and finally concluded that they were gone forever. I bought a new pair at Kohl's two weeks ago.
Last night I dreamed that I found my sunglasses. When I woke up in the morning, I kept thinking that if I could just remember where I found the shades in my dream, I could look there, but the details were gone.
Today I stopped by the home of some friends who have taken care of my children every once in a while for the past few years. As I fiddled with my new pair of sunglasses, James jumped up and said, "I have to go get those! They've been at our house for a long time, and Mom said I have to give them to you today!" And returned with my old pair of sunglasses, which apparently fell out of my van into their driveway--sometime last fall.
How weird is that? Have you ever had that deja vu feeling?

YES!! Just last night, I had a dream about a former colleague that I haven't seen in years, who I remember fondly in a general sense, but do not remember the details of her life. Just this morning, I got an auto-generated e-mail from a website that I used to use to share pictures of my first child when she was born 6 years ago. The e-mail was reminding me of the birthday of that very same colleague! Weird!
I have a list of lost things...but somehow I don't think the Betsy McCall doll will be found any place but here. A dream would probably help because I am clueless as to where I put her. I like your new layout BTW.
That was very deja vu......or something like that. And better yet, now you have two pair of sunglasses so if you lose one pair; you have a spare. LOL
Loved your blog about deodorant. I was just looking through the various scents last week. I hate anything that smells like fruit, body wash, deodorant, lotion. I think I finally picked lavender.....and I usually go for the power scent...even in the laundry detergent.
That's crazy! It makes you wonder about wormholes kind of, doesn't it?
first time is happenstance, second time is coincidence, third time is enemy in action
Gwen, I'm shocked, you have a mistake in your title. Â Unless "strenger" is a word I don't know...
@rimac80 - Well, you know...if you say it with an accent, right? Or maybe it's like, what was that word I knew and you didn't? Or maybe it's just like Thora made a mistake and was too lazy to fix it after she saw it. Yeah, that could be it....
That is so weird. I wonder if you would mind dreaming I find my sunglasses. I lost them 7ish years ago. They are prescription and in a very hot pink case. (the case is actually a cell phone case but I didn't have a cell phone at the time....)
Didn't we just have this conversation?
Sunglasse are classified as ephemera here, based on past experience. I buy mine at the dollar store. I get some unique fashion statements from the dollar store.
I am impressed you got yours back!
