No reason...just some food porn that I thought was good.
Cowboy's Steakhouse

Taiwanese steak. When I go to Taiwanese steakhouse, I don't go for the quality of the meat. Instead, I go for the sauce, the sizzling hot plate, the spaghetti with the sauce, and my sunny side up egg. The corn soup is probably best ones amongst Taiwanese steakhouses.
It gets a 3/5 from me, because it's still acceptable and the staff is friendly.
I've been binging on a lot of Taiwanese food thinking I won't have any of it when I get to SF. However, now that I think about it, I don't think I'll miss it that much when I get up there... I will probably just explore what's good there anyway. Unlike most of my friends, I don't usually crave Chinese food.

I think this is a nice restaurant. Would get a 4/5 from me.
Prix Fixe menu is only $25. You get a choice of salad or soup as starters, and I highly recommend the heirloom (is there anything that's not heirloom nowadays?) potato and mushroom soup. Main course, as seen from the first 3 pictures, mahi mahi, I forget the name of the second dish (it has chinese chicken salad, galbi, fish, and tuna salad), and flat iron steak. Lastly there is this coconut thing that none of us wanted to order, and this Hawaiian guava chiffon, which was delicious.

I think I'll try Cowboy's and see how's the food.
yummy =D
that steak seems to have a lot of sauce spread throughout a huuge plate...i dunno. it seems to make it look like you're not getting much even though it seems to be the size of the other dishes
.
All the food looks good. I always go for the sauces at our local Thai restaurant. Roy's looks like a good place to visit.
Valley blvd in San Gabriel? The address alone is pretty nostalgic for me. But 800 Fig is not a place I would hang out. When you get to SF you will forget virtually every restaurant in LA. The Chinese place in the city and south between Daly City and Mountain View are fabulous. I used to go to a place called Honk Kong Flower Lunge (I think?) in Milbrae. It was the best Chinese I had ever eaten. But you have to go to the old restaurant, not the new one... that's if it is still in existence.
yeah, good luck on your flight/car ride/boat ride to SF =) LA's always gonna be a hop, skip, or swim away.
I'm surprised you like Roy's - since it's sorta like the Benihana of Hawaiian cooking. :)
wow...i love steak ~
haha, i went back to roy's the next day with my friend :P
