Tristan and I are going to the states in mid-September, through mid-October, to visit my family and my in-laws.  I'm currently shopping around for fun things to take with us to keep Tristan occupied on the plane (8 hours between England and Michigan and 8 hours home, then 5 hours between Michigan and Louisiana, and 5 hours back to MI from LA), as well as on our down time during visits.  So far, we have a small travel Magna Doodle, plus the usual crayons and coloring books and paper.  At eBay, I'm bidding on a felt board and a few felt pieces to go along with it.  I thought that would be something fun for us to do with Tristan's grandparents, as they always come up with cute stories to tell.

The stuff I'm hoping to win:

The flannel board

5 cute fish

5 Frogs - with a pond and a log

5 flying kites

5 moody cloud finger puppets (hand not included lol)

Lots of pretty balloons

Cute traffic light

Pretty Fall leaves

We chose the blue Magna Doodle

Those felt pieces are going to become an addiction, I can feel it.  I've just discovered hundreds more on eBay!

That looks so cool! I love the felt pieces. Especially the little frogs! They are so cute. My kids could play with felt for hours. I don't completely understand the addiction, but if it makes them happy, it makes me happy.

The felt looks really fun!  My daughter turns 3 next month & I'm thinking of getting her a felt board as well...

Just remember that whatever you bring along for the long plane ride, the child will have tired with it all within the first 15 minutes... possibly even before take-off :)   That was my experience at least!  Oh, and bring LOTS of snacks... not just for nourishment, but for the busy-ness factor!

That's really cute! I see how that could become an addiction. Will you be making your own felt pieces too? That would be fun!

Tiff- thanks for the advice!  I've already started the mental list LOL.  Believe me, I'm the Snack Queen, I've got that part covered.  We'll be taking lots of toys and whatnot on the plane too.  Tristan actually has a great attention span, so I'm interested to see how he does in such a different environment (he hasn't been on a plane in 3 years)

Tricia- you are reading my mind!  Yes, I have considered making those lol.  I am not sure that they'd be very cute, I need a good pattern to copy.  But, I love what this lady has done with the glitter paint/glue!  It's inspired me to at least give it a try.
