School's so drab nowadays, I feel like Nat & I perpetually yammer on from 7am to 2pm, except for the tiny break which is recess... And that's when I yammer on with the other four. People keep coming up to me and saying, 'But April, you don't even need to come to school anymore. Why do you bother anyway?' And I guess it's hard to explain why. Maybe it's the boredom I'd feel if I was at home moping about the endless wait for my results, or perhaps it's because I'd feel like I was missing out on a lot of stuff if I simply skipped class (yea, -scoff- right).
As cheesy as this may sound, I really still go to school to see everyone else. I mean, I really only have 7 more weeks here, and 5 left in school; so if I were to choose between living in the chaos of rushing to assembly and schedulling daily Boggle rematches during Bio and English, or waking at the ungodly hour of 11 only to bide my day away reading fanfiction or watching online TV, I'd gladly choose the former, thank you very much.
Besides, it's not like I'd be able to do outrageous stuff like skipping English (we had to give a speech each on Stalin or the Nazis, which I, as usual, was unprepared for) and instead heading for the library computers with Nicole [Chan] to engage in a friendly game of Wordtwist while she enlightened me on all the 'It' Korean/Taiwanese/Jap TV stars (apparently to her, not knowing who Rain is is like committing the most horrific crime ever... I kind of thought she was referring to this girl whose character was named Rain in the Jay Chou movie 'Secret'... ); or have fun getting caught up in the anticipation towards Founder's Day Dinner (Nat and I are still totally unsure of which dress to wear and without sounding bimbotic, I'd like to add that everyone else has chosen their 'Perfect Dress' while we still 'Uhmmmm....' and 'Uhhhh...').
Okay, now the Bali pictures.
Four Seasons was so awesome. Our estate was like a palace within a kingdom, since the place was HUGE. And everything was delish and gorgeous, especially the panoramic views.

The entrance to our estate.

The living area

Garden, sort of.

That's the second bedroom, which is essentially the other house in the estate. Sam and I slept in the study, but I refuse to post any pictures of them here because everyone would see my clothes strewn all over the place and my shopping bags slung over the door handle and on top of the TV (lazily left there one night before being glued to CSI with Sam).

Our pool! Come to think of it, it's a good thing this was private, or we'd have garnered several bewildered stares from outsiders whenever they caught a glimpse of Matt and Noelle's crab dances and pretend surfing...

Second bedroom (where Matt the prat slept).

Comfy-looking bale. It's also where Sam sprained her ankle... but still, lounging in it was awesome.

The dining area. I know, I know. This was taken on our second day and it was already filled with my nonsense, namely 'Remember Me?' by Sophie Kinsella, my Gap bag, and a very cool-looking handbag that costed a third of its price in Roppongi Hills, Tokyo, but was available in Bali because its craftman was there.

Toilet with an outdoor shower. Apparently Matt tried it out and my uncle intends to get one for his new house... Sam and I pulled identical grimaces, but whatever.

First bedroom on top as seen from the pool.

A very princess-y bed, complete with another miniature one by its side. I simply refused to lie still in one of those all-consuming contraptions (blame it on my neurotic genes), and I guess that explained my numerous mozzie bites the next morning.

See the sundecks by the pool below!

The Quiet Pool (the pool used by those who didn't live in estates, just villas). It can also be translated into 'The Anti-Matt-and-Noelle-Pool', seeing as they never keep their mouths shut. Several times, I actually heard my sis scream just for the sake of practicing it. Sheesh.

My dad sick of posing for photos with my mum.

The Fun Pool (the pool below the Quiet Pool). At least it was fun before M&N jumped in. After that, it was pure chaos.

The sea view from the Fun Pool.

Our butler. His name's Kariyana, and his son's 14 and in the Olympics this year for some bamboo football something or another... And he's really nice. Noelle was so swept away with his awesome service she named a wooden duck she bought over there Kariyana too... how absolutely enchanting. (Pulls a face).

But the service was so fab. We got these little afternoon snacks everyday from the butler and they were like little drops of heaven. The first day was proscuitto with pesto and feta cheese, and strawberry smoothies complete with marshmallow brownies. Mm, marshmallows. The second day was the M&M cupcakes above and some sushi or salmon roll slathered in mouthwaterig cider and olive oil. The third was these oatmeal cookies and some dark chocolate ones. The dark chocolate ones were the best I've tasted. They had huge rocks of white chocolate blocks encased in every bite that make you almost frown at the thought of settling for a crappy Nestle chocolate chip one ever again. I couldn't capture a shot of every snack because you see, there's this annoying dud named Matt who gobbles half of everything up before a pretty snapshot can be taken.

Dinner at the Italian restaurant at the Bvlgari resort.

Sam looking cute, dipping her bread in olive oil and vinegar.

The two morons.

My tiramisu!

After everything.

We loved the resort so much we went back the next morning for breakfast.

Mine.

Matt's. If you're wondering why the French beans look meddled with, it's because they were. Matt was coercing my mum into taking the French beans from him so he wouldn't have to eat the veg, obviously that idea flopped.

Pretty view.

Noelle's unglam snooze.

My dad, at the thought of enduring more of my mum's incessant photo-snapping.

First day, the welcome card... with cookies and juice.

Matt being very vain.

This is for those who don't believe my dad and Sam&Matt's dad are twins [taken from US Trip '07]. Matt's butting in was completely incidental.

Til next time! |
