I'm about done with Xanga.. I hardly visit it anymore..

Tuesday, August 08, 2006

I don't believe anyone hardly reads my Xanga anymore since I rarely post. I must admit I've become a MySpace fan, yet I don't think your Weblog truly allows for such expression from the heart or from what God is doing in one's life. I've been gone for awhile, but it's time to come back.

A missionary friend of mine from India spoke a Word to me the other day and it has sense pressed into my deepest being. He challenged me with these verses and it has shaken me to the core..

Matthew 7:13-14 (The Message)

"Don't look for shortcuts to God. The market is flooded with surefire, easygoing formulas for a successful life that can be practiced in your spare time. Don't fall for that stuff, even though crowds of people do. The way to life—to God!—is vigorous and requires total attention.

Luke 13:23-25 (The Message)

A bystander said, "Master, will only a few be saved?"

He said, "Whether few or many is none of your business. Put your mind on your life with God. The way to life—to God!—is vigorous and requires your total attention. A lot of you are going to assume that you'll sit down to God's salvation banquet just because you've been hanging around the neighborhood all your lives. Well, one day you're going to be banging on the door, wanting to get in, but you'll find the door locked and the Master saying, 'Sorry, you're not on my guest list."

Simply Jesus said, "few will entered the Kingdom along the narrow path.." and then He continues with, "a lot of you are going to assume that you'll sit down to God's salvation banquet just because you've been hanging in the neighborhood all your lives.."

*WHACK*

Talk about conviction. How many of us live our lives like this at times? *Raises hand* I know I do at times. I sometimes go along with what I surround myself with, whether of God or for the glory of God.. I mean, seriously can I be honest for a moment? Jesus just said it, "You will not enter the Kingdom by just saying a prayer and assuming that's it.."

It's so much more than that and frankly.. I'm thankful for that very fact.. Lately some of my friends have noticed a change or a distance in my heart or time spent with them. It's only because God is working on this wretched heart of mine. What beauty He has brought before my eyes and truth whispered to my heart. I don't want to be the one that knocks at the door wanting in and the Lord says, "Sorry, your not on my guest list.."

I prophesied several months ago that this year was a year of transformation.. The Holy Spirit was only preparing me what was to come.. It's been hard. It's been tough. It's been great! I know this season of transformation will only prepare me for the seasons to come.

My life is God's. I am not my own. Ahh.. this is only the beginning of what is to come.. God is working and rest assured He's not done yet.. I'm applying for an internship called 24/7 with New Life Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado.. Please pray God's discernment and grace during this process..

Thanks for letting me express my heart.. there is so much more to come..
