My darling companion... my Paige...
This morning, she went to stay at the Vet for the time we will be away. Thomas and I have agonized about the decision but thought it was the best option since she is on multiple medicines to keep her well. This has to be the closest thing to having a child because we truly love her and worry about her. We have conditioned her to act like "people' and in return she shows us much love and sometimes even sassy attitude... just like we do. This separation will be tough... Friday is her birthday -April 1st- she will be 8 yrs old. I think I am going to send her a birthday card to the vet! They will really think I am one of those weird people... I hope in some ways that we have a speedy return...

That first picture is beautiful. We struggle terribly too when we have to board Veda. We try to have someone stay here... but as you said... the more medicines... the more difficult it is! She will be safe and well cared for... and I don't think the vet will think you are weird for sending a card at all. There is a local vet with a billboard out front that posts pet birthdays on it all the time!

We board our puppy sometimes, and she always survives! I can't go when Robbie drops her off though because I cry. But don't worry! She'll be ok!

How comes I never twigged before that Peanut and Paige are twins!  Peanut has just had her special Science Diet turkey dinner for her 8th birthday lunch.  I am sure your Paige knows she's cared for.
