Good early evening! I am waiting for the rice to steam and I am getting ready to make Chicken Korma for dinner tonight so I have a few minutes to update you about my scooter ride yesterday:
So yesterday- Thomas and I decided to go for a ride up to Belair to visit X Treme Skooters where we bought our scooter. It was about a 25 mile ride to get there and 25 miles back... on roads where the speed limit was 50! YIKES! 50 was an understatement since we were doing 50+ DOWN huge hills (Thomas says we reached 60 at one point...but I am trying not to think about that). We had not really had any experiences on big roads like this- nor did we expect to run out of gas! Heee! Thank goodness for a reserve tank. We were able to get to a gas station and get a fill up.
Well, we got to the store and then we went to have lunch. On the way home we decided to go a slower way home on Harford road. This is where I turned to jello. Harford road is a fast windy road where turns can kill you in a car let alone a scooter. At one point I felt the scooter shaking as we reached a deep turn and instead of leaning, I looked over Thomas's shoulder and freaked out thinking we were going to hit the guard rail and I put my foot down and it dragged the ground. No biggie really except it scared me. (Breathe) After that the rest of the turns and deep curves, I was fine- because I my whole body rubbery...
Around the time we were reaching home he asked me if I wanted to go further and take a slower ride... and at that point I gripped his waist and firmly said I WANTED TO GO HOME! Heeee! We drove up to the studio and I got off Stella so fast I nearly hopped off. Being home never felt so good.
It was just a more advance ride for me- than I was ready for. It was FAST and CURVY. I am sure I will do it again later when I am more "broken in". In the meantime I am going to do a lot more practicing with local rides. I mean- we only now have 100 miles on the scooter... so we have a lot of ground to cover until we become pro's! Heee
Now I need to go fix dinner and then get out to the studio! Lots of work to get done. Can you believe I am having a little anxiety about going to the gym for the first time-tomorrow? I am! See- I told you I had issues with doing a public display of sweating... Okay- More later tonight.
UPDATE: Photos-dinner- scootering on Belair road, and me working in studio tonight...
