GOOD AFTERNOON I am finding it hard to create a post this morning. My mind is scattered with many random thoughts that it is a challenge to harness them into any order. So I will try to go slow and type things with some thought. Perhaps it is the weather which is distracting me? It is wonderful and gray out. If you notice in the photo above- my office it rather dark. Rain is forecasted for the remainder of the day and that is just perfect for me. It also could have everything to do with not getting enough sleep. Thus the tight grip on my coffee as you can also see! Heee...
STUDIO UPDATE:
I had to rework a jewelry project last night. It just wasn't looking finished
enough, so I took it apart and redid it and put it aside to set. I hope that I
will find it looks better when I see it again. You know, with fresh eyes. I can!|t
wait to get in there and work. I think I will open up the doors tonight and
clean. Tonight is trash night! I love trash nights. So I will sweep and clean
and straighten things up and prepare for the long weekend ahead. My coffee
maker is all ready to go. I just have to fill my little refrigerator with some
stuff like soy milk and maybe cheese! Heee!
 PERSONAL UPDATE:
I weighed myself this morning for the first time in a while and I am still right
at the edge of that number I have been wanting to pass. I am not sure HOW I can
get pass this! I think I am going to go and sign up for an assessment at the
gym next week. I need to do some weight training soon too. I feel as if there
are areas that are LESS than acceptable. I can see the weight loss in my upper
body- because I can now see my collarbone which is lovely, (ref: photo above!) but the rest of
things are a mess still. No, I do not think I am being too hard on myself. This
work is not an easy thing to accomplish. It takes so much determination and
focus which I find to be a huge challenge. I know I could just give it up and
pretend that it doesn't matter and go back to drinking those wonderful 500 calorie Mocha's which
I love or forbid myself to eat those damn yummy burritos from Taco Bell. Sigh!K
but then all of this effort would be for nothing. Anxiety? Yes! I look ahead to
winter and worry. I hope I can keep my focus. It is so easy to be lazy. * I do have to say, that overall, I am happy with what I have done so far. It is very worth it because I just feel better overall. I don't get so tired walking places or even upstairs and my clothes fit better without having effort. Yes- Progress has been made... but I am so impatient at times! Heee!
CODE ORANGE:
Eeek!K what a thing to wake up to. I worry about my dear Leigh, who I hope is
back here in the states. She travels from the UK
to the US
a lot. I ALWAYS think about her when she travels for this reason. I am glad
someone was on the ball and doing their job and was able to discover this plot.
I know it will happen again sometime, someday- sadly. But at least we are
working hard to TRY and not let it happen so far. (Gulp)
HOME STUFF:
Thomas contacted our contractor last week who has worked on our property in the
past- with filling in the pool and pouring our driveway. He came out and did a
survey and drafted a proposal for the new concrete deck. We are going to have
our old concrete replaced, more dirt dumped and graded from the studio to the
backdoor, and a new path created to take rain water away from the house. It
will open an area for entertaining and for a hot tub. The price was perfect for
this undertaking. Now they just have to meet to discuss the particulars and to
sign the paperwork to get started. It should be nice to not have a flooded
basement.
 SKY WATCH!
http://www.space.com/searchforlife/seti_perseids_060810.html "This
weekend is the he Perseid meteor shower. The best
night to go out is Saturday night, August 12/13. The first hour of the night
will be dark and a small number of Perseids will streak long tracks when they
fall into Earth!|s atmosphere at a grazing angle. Later in the night, the Moon
will light up the sky; it!|s just a few days past full Moon this weekend.
The Perseid rate will increase because the meteors fall in at a steeper angle;
the meteors are short and swift then. While moonlight (and street lights) will
wash out faint meteors, you will still have the opportunity in clear weather to
see the many bright meteors from this classic, late-summer meteor shower." I love these sky events!
You know I will be outside looking up this weekend.
RECAP: I
guess that is it for now. I feel as if there is nothing of importance in my
posts lately. I feel a bit bland and it is hard to find meaty things to talk
about. The summer is just so constipated! I read a lot about people and their
feelings of sadness and discontent. I can understand. I think if I wasn!|t so
distracted with projects, I too would fall into the August Void. Perhaps I
will come back later and post something interesting- maybe something about a technique I use in
art or something. Is there anything that you want to know about me that I could answer?
Ask away!
Okay-
more later! XoxoxoxoX |
