  • Visitor Stats for this past year

    Visitor Stats (Apr07-Apr08)

Interesting trend, isn't it. You get featured and lo, the floodgate opens and visitors come rushing in. A month or so after that, they come in trickling and soon after, drop out entirely.

After looking at March 2008 stats I realized that I need to move the location of the counter script, and so I did and after the move, the stats climbed back up, as it should.

    move from where to where?

  • ihsankhairir

@farahamizah - from the old site to the themed site. The stats for Nov 2007 - March 2008 are number of visits to the old, basic weblog. Which really, nobody ever visits. Therefore I had to move the counter script to the themed site, where it is now, so that it counts the number of visits to this site.

How do you find these stats? I don't suppose you have some kind of tracking device that keeps track of the number of visitors for the past year.

  • ihsankhairir

@Southeast_Beauty - I have an account with sitemeter (suggested by Xanga), where you can see lots of stats regarding visitors to your site. They even keep track of how long every visitor stay at your site. For the counter, you have to put the code where your site is commonly reached to, so mostly people put it on their main page. But here in Xanga people mostly open the individual entry page, so what I did was I put the code in the header so that it would be omnipresent regardless of what page in my Xanga you open, thus reflecting the true number of visits to my Xanga.

Wow you made this? I'm impressed! I applaud you with your objective data and statistics making...=)

I live in the US in NJ, we get bubble tea in the cafe close to us.

  • ihsankhairir

@Scrooge0 - Ah. I used to live in Ann Arbor for about 4.5 years. There's a bubble tea place there called Bubble Island where I went to study, have bubble tea, or hang out with my friends. Great memories. Bubble tea can only bring great memories.

@Scrooge0 - btw, the graph and the table was generated by sitemeter, not me, so I can't take credit.

Only 3,000? That's fantastic, but for being featured... a bit flat...

  • ihsankhairir

@Amandasbiggestfan - Because back then the counter script sat on the main page... when someone goes directly to the individual post page (where you can see and write comments) they don't register on the counter unless someone goes to the main page after reading the entry page or dropping comments.

I would imagine seeing at least 10k if the counter sat on every page of my Xanga.

Just stopping by 'cause you replied to me on a facebook thing...I'm Katibeth, the girl who asked what people's xangaversaries were. Yep.

  • ihsankhairir

@faerieshadow - Ah, welcome, Katibeth. Thanks for visiting. I shall return the favor by visiting yours. Ah, Friends Lock. Well maybe some other time, eh.

    Dear Ihsan,

I always like to open my fishcan tracker during times when I have a top five entry. Sometimes the entry will become viral, and as you say, open up the floodgates. Then pretty soon things get back to normal. I sometimes wonder what happens to the dozens of folks who subscribe to my site and then disappear.

You asked me in a comment about the morphing software I use. It's called Morpheus. HERE's A LINK. I bought the program for $29.99 at Fry's and then upgraded to the $59.99 program online. I have another morph online called "Skyline".
