  • 1st Day Pt.1

Well.... today we started school.  It lasted about 2 hours.  However, it started with cramps and a teething, feverish dfdfdgtgfgdgdgfgfhgfgfgfhfhn

By 8:45 (we started at 8:30) I was almost in tears.  Sam (20 months old) is not going to cooperate with vghvgthis sit-down and listen business.  Levi (almost 5) has no interest in learning his letters.  Should I be worried?  I even gave him free reign with the scissors and glue.  Not interested.  bbhbh - added by needy child

Yay, a post!  I'm thrilled to hear about your first day.  Tomorrow will be better.  Ashlie said she and Lucy both cried over math on their first day. . .Besides, your ahead of the game.  It's not even September yet.

My 5 year old is in Kindergarten and has no desire to learn letters either....just getting him to trace them for his homework tonight was like pulling all his teeth......it will be the death of me yet!

Welcome to Xanga....I'm E's sister in law!

Welcome to Xanga. I ahve been reading Anothermadhousewife's blog for a while now and really enjoy reading her. My oldest had no interest in his either but homework in general will be a struggle I think. Hugs to you!

I read Anothermadhousewife's blog, too- and since you're her neighbor and friend, I'm happy to welcome you to Xanga-land. Don't be so hard on yourself, mama. It was Day one! It'll be fine. See what a good mama you are? Letting your kids participate in typing the blog? You clearly encourage their curiousity and you obviously have patience and good priorities. You'll do great. Lisa

I'm so impressed with you homeschool moms, as unimpressive as you feel!  I struggled over 10 minutes of homework and putting a puzzle together with J3.  And I got a note from school that J3 likes to do what he likes to do and has trouble listening and following instructions.  Well, he's 5.  He's a boy.  He's never been in school before.  And he's a sinner.  I'm thinking it's going to take a while.  So I just had a good cry, since I dropped J3 off only to have him cling to me with a desperate "I want to stay with you" look in his eyes.  I'm also having to learn how to trust the Lord with my child in other people's hands.  Homeschooling is actually sounding pretty good in that light!  I do hope today is better!  What a huge task you're undertaking.  Look to God for guidance and encouragement!

And welcome to xanga.  I was on for a while but realized it was taking away from other things I needed to accomplish.  But I may need the outlet again with the start of kindergarten!!  Peace, friend!

Hi.  I was sent by Anothermad also.  I too have a 5 year old in kindergarten this year and he is "making me nuts" already  when it comes to doing school work.  He just says he doesn't want to.  Well alrighty then.  Hopefully it will get better for all of us as time passes by!  Welcome to Xanga.  It is fun.
