Hair accessories
I am very certain that every single girl that lives in this modern world has or had hair accessories, some just a hair tie, some head bands, clips, bobby pins. oh and hair extensions is also considered as a hair accessory
I started using hair accessories since I was a little girl, my mom would tie ribbons on my pony tail. Sometimes a head band for school, and use bobby pins to clip the loose end up. And maybe that is the reason why, mom’s love having daughter because they can dress their little girls up in beautiful accessories.
Bun Net
You are definitely going to laugh at me. I used to wear them for school for my tap-dancing classes and my mom would pin it up in a million booby pins!
Black bendies
I used a lot of these black bendies too; they came in very handy when I was in school. Holds the hair up tightly! Guarantee.
Don’t you agree with me, that the little butterfly bendies are so cute on little girls.
You know, being in an all girl’s school back in Singapore, we were only allowed to use black or White hair tie, ribbons, and bobby pins. Like the one, shown above.
No other colours allowed. How boring was that!
But even with the very limited colour choice, I remember my school mates having all this beautiful accessories on their hair. We would ask each other “Where did you get that hair tie from?” or “your black lace ribbons is so pretty!” “I want one!”
Having said that, even up to today, we still ask our girl-friends where they get their accessories from.
And maybe that is the reason why, I love my accessories. Because I started young! ;)
Break clips
Did you remember these break clips; they were in fashion at one stage. But I never once used them, however for some strange reason i got given a lot of them, and most of my break clips had butterflies on them. I loved butterflies when i was younger!
Hair Barrettes
I've always love this hair barrette, but i can never have them on me because my hair is too thick!
I reckon, they look very elegant on the head. especially when you have your hair, half up and half down
Hair Elastic
These are a must, if you have long hair like me. Oh man, they go everywhere with you...even when your hair is let down for the day. Just carry one along with you, you never know. You might need them in emergency or someone else might ask if you have one.
Trust me
Priceline and most supermarkets sells them, if you are interested. The most you would pay is, 5bucks?
NOO now this is one horrible hair tie. It’s only good if you were in a dance and needed it as a “dance accessory” other than that, please don’t tell me you have worn this out.
They are called the “Hairy Elastic”.
Velvet Scrunchie
Oh no...i have to admit. I have worn these before when i was a little girl, i took Mom's srunchie a lot and tied it around my bun. They used to hold them up without the bobby pins. Great!
My oh my seem like I’ve worn and tried lots of hair accessories. Nevertheless I still stick to my bobby pins and black elastic. They never let me down.
I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I did. It actually made me reflect of my younger days when I was little and had my hair tie in piggy ties and ribbons on me. I can't have them now...because I’m older.
But when I have little girls of mine one day, I’m sure I’ll be dressing them up in beautiful hair accessories.

I think i used to wear a lot more hair accessories when i was at school because I had long hair and anything more than shoulder length must be tied up!
Nowadays I have lots of bobby pin in case i need my hair for performances, and tie my hair into pony tail at work when I need to do procedures etc. I had quite a huge collection of barettes back in the high school days! I think I should really get into them again when I have spare money to spend haha!
Yeah that likes my school, anything over the shoulder is consider long. If you don't tie it up, the school or teacher will ring the parents. How strict was that! Yikes.
some of those items sure bring back memories.
don't know if you were the same, but in around grade 6/7, little butterfly hair clips were SO "in". your position amongst the cool people depended on how many of those colourful little clips your head can handle.
Hair accessories are a must have!!
Sadly when I was younger... my mum always cut my hair really short (my sisters included) imagine if you had to do all 4 daughter's hairs... I think I would cut them too :P
