| | Here's my new garbage can...hopefully quite mouse proof. I feel
kind of silly spending so much money on a garbage can, but since it is
out in the open and right in the middle of my home, I wanted it to look
nice. My long run went really well yesterday with neither my
ankle nor my bruised butt giving me any problems. I'm going to
try to lose another five pounds or so in the next two weeks to make the
marathon a little easier on my legs. I just watched the
vice-presidential debates and I must say I wasn't all that impressed
with either candidate. I did like Chaney saying that he was
personally opposed to a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage,
though he did say that he would support the president and his
position. Edwards was pretty wishy-washy in his response to it
and I could tell that neither of them was anxious to make it an
issue. Bush brought that constitutional amendment up in a state
of the union address many months ago, but has said nothing about it
since. I think he was just testing the waters and his advisors
have since realized that they didn't want to make a campaign issue of
it. I didn't care for John Edwards' homely little stories and
even more so that in the presidential debates, it sounded too much like
a rehash of their TV ads on both sides. And it irritates me to no
end when the candidates start spewing statistics to support their
point. I think statistics are like Bible verses -- if you search
hard enough you can find some to support your position no matter what
it is. While at Bed, Bath And Beyond buying my can, I discovered
a new flavour of Altoids... liquorice. And they are quite
tasty. I like all the flavours, but I think Cinnamon and Ginger
are my favourites.
