I went to a really cool place on Sunday.    My sister and I went to a place just outside of Eugene called Bring Recycling.  They are a non profit organization that accepts donations of used building material and resells them at reasonable prices.  It's a cross between a junk yard and a lumber yard and it was oh so fun to look around there!  They are very well organized and have hundreds of old windows, doors, sinks and lots of other things.  I want to get a bathroom sink and a replacement kitchen window there...and maybe a few other things.  Yesterday was the first day back for the regular repair guy and he was in good spirits ....but today he seemed irritable and cranky .  He is very fussy about "his" repair area and as much as I tried to keep everything just as it was while he was gone, he found plenty of fault with how things were.  I expected him to be unhappy about having the wrong kind of tape in his tape dispenser...he had a stash of the kind he likes hidden somewhere.  There were some links of chain in a pile that got moved (BIG mistake apparently) and as much as he likes to have every tool in place on the wall above the workbench, there are apparently a few tools he likes to have NOT put away, but sittting on his bench, ready for use and he snapped at me when I tried to put one of them away today.  He also snapped when I put back the rectangular bins of cords and bulbs rotated 90 degrees.  He didn't actually say anything, but as soon as I had set them back on the shelf, he yanked them out and slammed them back in how they "should" be.  To me it makes more sense to have them the other way , but there is absolutely no arguing with him.  I could never understand why everybody was so glad to see him go when he went on his surgery leave two months ago...but now I'm starting to see why.  He is on "light duty", which means no heavy lifting, which means he won't resume his delivery duties for a while.  And with his right arm still sore and weak, I guess I will also be helping him with repairs.  So I'm afraid there won't be much for him to do except find fault in what everybody else is doing.    I got a call today from a research firm that is conducting a mock trial here in Eugene on Thursday.  They are looking for mock jurors and after answering a bunch of questions, I qualified and since I have the day off on Thursday, I thought it might be a fun way to earn $100 for half a day's work!  So I will be doing that from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. and there was talk of refreshments, bathroom breaks and sandwiches for lunch!  I wish everybody were so willing to feed me and give me money.    My computer problems haven't gotten any worse and I am getting used to the routine of doing a few extra things to get my computer running close to normal when I'm starting it up.  The only thing I don't really feel comfortable doing is my internet banking.  I really don't care if anybody is watching anything else I do...I don't know why anybody would want to.  My health insurance at work will start on the first of April.  I've been without health insurance for several years and have thankfully been extremely healthy...but the closer I get, the more nervous I get that something terrible will happen before my insurance starts.  So I've been very careful about where I go and what I do and have just been much more cautious than I normally am.

ooh, the guy you work with sounds unbearable.

The thing that concerns me about online banking is possibly having a 'keystroke logger' get all my info. A 'Keystroke logger' is a remote access trojan that opens a port on a computer and records every keystroke so that hackers can use the info to get money from bank accounts. They can get passwords and credit card numbers, etc. The only slightly risky thing I do online is use my credit card to buy stuff, but I only do that on my MSNTV (WebTV) because it's far more secure than my computer. (I hope)
