| | Thanksgiving at my house was a festive occasion. My mom was in
town for several days and my younger brother and his Slovakian roommate
came down from Portland. My sister and her Nigerian boyfriend cam
over to complete the international gathering. It's too bad my
older brother and his Chinese girlfriend couldn't come up...that
wouldn't have made for an even more interesting day. We had a
vegetarian amongst us, so in addition to the traditional turkey, mashed
potatoes, cranberry sauce, gravy and dressing, we also had a
tofurkey and vegetarian gravy. And the dressing was cooked
outside of the bird. For dessert we had apple and pumpkin
pies. After that we cleared out the big table from the middle of
the covered patio and replaced it with my ping pong table and played
ping pong long into the night. Today was a day off for me and I
spent it making copies of my old photos for a gallery in Pacific City
and a coffee shop in Manzanita. I also went nuts and spent a
bunch of money. I bought some tile and a few books at a thrift
store. I'm seeing how the tile looks in my bathroom...they have a
bunch more and I may be back for the rest. I bought a small,
white used TV for next to my computer...it is about a foot square and was only fifteen dollars.

I then bought four pairs of pants at another thrift store to go with
the two pairs I bought the other day. I have a few pairs that
still fit nicely, but I also have several pairs that were a little
tight this summer and are now uncomfortably snug. I haven't tried
any of them on yet, but hopefully a few of them will fit. I'm
usally pretty lazy about trying them on before buying. I washed
them all this evening and they are in the dryer right now. I also
played volleyball tonight...I really wish I were playing three or four
nights a week.
