Dinos

Here are my long lost dinosaur models:
dinos2
They are in worse shape than I remember and I'm not sure how complete they are since all the pieces are mixed together. And the mice have been chewing on the boxes and making nests. But I was very happy to find them as I had thought for sure they were history. Most of the old toys and games were in boxes all together in my mom's garage. Before I even started cleaning, I looked in all the boxes I could and peeked in a couple boxes in the back through the holes the mice had chewed. The big box that had my dinosaurs in them also had a few other games and that's all I saw when I first looked in it. It wasn't until a few days later when I was almost completely done cleaning the garage that I actually took that big box down and looked inside. The most valuable one by far is t-rex whose orange head can be seen in the middle of the photo. Unfortunately, the box is no longer around...it would likely be worth close to a hundred dollars by itself. I will toss them up on eBay soon. I'm usually quite sentimental about things from my past, but these take up a lot of room and are best housed in someone else's collection. My friend missed both the buses back to Corvallis, so he is staying another night.

I never got into dinosaurs but I recently received as a gift a dragon. I'll take a pic and blog it.

I'm not sure I have anything left from my childhood years, as far as toys or stuff like that are concerned. I never really had toys anyways. I mostly had books. I was kind of nerdish I guess. And in those days, as far as figurines go, it was mostly Dinky toys. Dinosaurs are more recent... kind of.

I checked last night and a near mint t-rex with its original box sold on eBay a couple weeks ago for almost $800. I'm not quite sure what to expect when I sell mine, but I'd be happy to get half that for all of them. I sorted out all the dinos last night and found that most are complete, but the cave bear is mysteriously missing. The box, base and the bottoms of his feet are there, but not the bear itself. I think maybe he is in another box somewhere in my mom's garage. T-rex is also missing one of his glow-in-the-dark eyeballs.
