Tuesday Night

How's that for a clever title! I saw a dog get hit my a car this afternoon. I just wrote a long description of it, but decided to erase it all...nobody really needs to hear all the details. I played volleyball tonight and turned my ankle. Actually somebody else turned it for me. It was towards the end of the evening and I was receiving a serve. The ball was coming right at me and I was just about to bump it when I heard the guy next to me call for the ball as he plowed into me. My left foot was firmly planted on the court and my ankle gave way as he rammed me from the side. It hurt, but I kept playing and now it is almost back to normal. Sunday was a good day...I did get a lot done and still managed to have some fun. Tomorrow is another day off and I haven't really made much in the way of plans. I have just a few errands to run and there is plenty to do around my house. I was fairly hot today and is supposed to be even hotter tomorrow. I'm hoping my house stays cool.

I don't recall directly seeing an animal or a human being hit by a car, except insects. Last fall when I went on the East coast, at about an hour's drive from Montreal, there was a big bunch of Monarch butterflies starting their migratory journey towards Mexico. They were crossing the expressway at quite an impressive speed. I could see some of them hit the windshields of cars preceding me and rebound in the air. I felt terrible. When you think of the incredible distance these marvelous little things travel to reach the state of Michoacan in Mexico, seeing them die stupidly because of humans just at the start of their voyage left a bitter taste in me, especially that I, also, was at the start of mine.

Hope your ankle and your house both stay cool.
