| | Yep...it's Thursday. I took Saturday off and had a fun weekend in Portland. I left early in the morning on Saturday. I spent about eight hours looking at postcards at the postcard show, then headed over to my friend Doug's place. He and I went out for dinner and were going to see a movie, but it was sold out. So we watched a DVD at his place instead. We went out to breakfast Sunday morning before saying our goodbyes. I stopped by the downtown library to research a few of my postcards, then met my baby brother (and a couple of his female friends) at a sports bar and we ate lunch and watched the Raiders game. After that I drove around Portland a bit looking for houses. I found one of the two for which I looked. Then it was back home to Eugene. My brother gave me a "yes on 49" lawn sign. He is working for that campaign. It would repeal another initiative that passed a few years ago and had the effect of pretty much letting any property owners do anything they want with their land. I knew it was a bad idea at the time, but wasn't surprised that it passed. I had another day off yesterday, but even though I was doing stuff all day, it just didn't seem like I got much done. I'm getting closer to having heat in my home. I'm got another estimate for getting my electrical system updated. I need to go from my current 100 amp service up to 200 amps if I want to have electric heat. I would also get completely new breakers all in one place. Right now there are breakers and fuses scattered about in a few different places. My teeth are feeling much better now. The extreme sensitivity to cold didn't last...they're just a bit sensitive now. I received something really cool yesterday that I won on ebay...I'll make that a subject of a later blog. Oh boy! I bet you can hardly wait!  |
