  • now underway

I know, its been a few weeks since I last posted, but in my defense, it has been very busy around here. school is getting underway, and classes are not as bad as I once feared. so, all is well. I would highly recommend taking speech as soon as possible and to knock it out quickly. I wish I had done so, making my life a lot less stressful. Thankfully, Dr. Montgomery makes it bearable and gets us all through it.

I'll be thankful when election season is past. The 'season' is making everything stressful for almost no reason whatsoever. Ask who I want to be elected and I'll tell you, and then proceed to defend my stand.

I feel like there's more to say, but I can't think of it. Oh, RUSH day was tuesday. That's a great way to get involved here. My club won the 'dance contest' at convocation, and needless to say, it was hilarious. Milligan rocks my socks, in oh so many ways.

I probably should at least look over what we're discussing in humanities today, so I'll leave on one final note. Weekends come alive here. Weekends are what I live for, not really but seriously.

    Until later,

  • the return.

well, I'm back in the dorms now, and I'm aware it has been a long time since I've last updated, but I've had a long summer.

    I'll start from the beginning.

I left Milligan for home to spend time with my girlfriend at her parents' and to watch her soon-to-be-Milligan-freshman sister's graduation. I left for home, and immediately got a job at my old job. I spent a great deal of my time there, and I will not bore you with the details, because details are simply lacking. I got to see my girlfriend for the week of July 4th. That was a lot of fun, and I missed her terribly. A good reminder of things to come at Milligan in the fall. More work followed, and before I knew it, the time came to pack my car once again and make the trek to Milligan once more. I spent the night at my friend's house on wednesday and then drove to Milligan yesterday. I unpacked my car, with the help of my girlfriend and friend, and am sitting here now.

Tomorrow I get to meet the incoming freshmen and help them move in. In spite of the heat and hard work I'll be involved in, I'm fairly excited. I can't wait to welcome everyone to Milligan and kick off another year. Its all happening so fast, and I'm right in the midst of it all.

Bring it on, Fall 2008. We're ready.

  • Coming to a Close

I know, I've been falling behind. School has been getting hectic, what with registration, tests, mondo papers and figuring out summer classes, oh, did someone say Humanities tour? I'm looking forward to the summer, and I'm not looking forward to the summer at the same time. I'm looking forward to it because I need to earn some money to a) pay back my parents and b) pay off the Humanities tour for next summer. So, needless to say, it's gonna be crazy. I'm not looking forward to summer because a) I'm gonna be away from my girlfriend and my close friends and b) because I'm taking summer courses. Not terribly exciting. I hope it will go by quickly so I can get back to Milligan in a hurry. I get to move in on the 14th of August, and chances are, I'll be helping people move in. I'm kind of excited to get here ahead of everyone while its quiet up here and get settled, while catching up with old friends and the like. If any of y'all reading this are Comm majors, I'm one of your peer mentors. So look out. I'm kidding.

I need to study some more. I'm out.
    Until later,
    Jason

  • Caught up

Wow, its been a while. Sorry for the delay... school's been crazy. I discovered that I'm a sophomore, that I can graduate a semester or two early, that I really enjoy my major, and that humanities can become very encompassing. School since easter break has been in hyper mode, it seems. I've been studying like crazy, counting down to the end of the semester. I'm looking to become more involved in the church here that I call home, and I'm super excited. I want to serve there, get to know the people better, and grow closer to the people in it. One more humanities exam and I'll be done. I'm excited. I just need to finish out strong. I really don't have too much to say, except that humanities requires a lot of studying.

    Until later,

  • Easter '08

Easter break is quickly coming to a close here for me. I'm still in the good ole' Queen City, soon to be heading back to Milligan. For those who don't know, the Queen City is Charlotte, NC. After visiting with my girlfriend's family, which is quickly becoming my second family, I don't feel so bad for not being able to go home for Easter. I would if it weren't over nine hours away. I love Milligan and the relationships and friendships that are formed with people. The fact that there's always someone willing to take you home with them when you can't make it home yourself is really comforting. Summer break is quickly closing in, and I'm STILL not sure what I'm doing. I'm still looking to intern somewhere in Johnson City, but I don't know just yet what God has in store. I'm going to mirror Christine's thought to close on, changing it slightly. Love those around you. You never know when their ticket is pulled.

    God bless,
    Jason
