An Engaging Sunday
Usually, my Sundays aren't quite this engaging, or interesting.
It started off with a 35 mile bike ride with the FLCC. I think this has been my longest ride in one sitting. It was such a beautiful day for a ride too. Temperatures in the mid to upper 60's, a cool scent of an overnight rain shower, and 20+ riders in the gorgeous upstate New York countryside. What a way to spend a Sunday morning! And to think I almost missed it all by sleeping in. The ride was pretty rolling. Mostly downhill, which is hard to imagine with all the crazy hills near my apartment. And the hills that had to be climbed were no greater than 20 degrees. The ride could have easily been more than that, but it was well planned for an smooth going trip. I almost got away accident free. But less than a quarter mile from the end, I wasn't able to get my left foot out of the clip in time to stop me from falling over. There was a stop sign and a car stopped in my lane as I slowed up next to it. I instinctively went into driving mode which told me I had to stop, even though I didn't neccessarily have to since I was turning with the traffic and didn't have to cross over any lanes. It was the argument at the last second that got me. My left foot said "we can roll right on through", but my brain retorted: "stop means stop!" And my knee was the innocent bystander. Just a bump, that's still sore, but nothing more. I ended up rolling on my back, which absorbed the rest of the fall. I think.
The rest of my day wasn't as interesting, until I went to have my phone looked at for possible water damage. I didn't drop the thing in the tub, the toilet, or a lake. But I did bump it in the sink while I was washing my hands. The water was going straight down the drain, and some (some!) water did get on the phone. In no way was the phone submerged in water, and there was no water under the cover where the battery sat protected. Still, the phone started doing funny things afterwards. Like, not recognizing my smart chip or not go to the home screen when I cycled power on it, thus making the phone completely useless. Not good. So I take it in to see what can be done, and I'm greeted by a cute sales girl with an attractive personality. I'm not sure if it was the euphoric feelings from the bike ride, or if I just felt extra pretty after I had cleaned up, but I decided to be more engaging with her. Normally, I'm not. I usually play it safe and not give off any indications that I'm attracted to someone that I am attracted to, mainly because I have this fear of embarrassment. Yes, I'm weird. But today was different, and I could tell she was interested in me more so than just a friendly salesperson sort of way. And the result? I did manage to muster out the question if she was seeing anyone. To which (unfortunately) was yes, she was seeing someone. Although she did say that question was a hard one for her to answer. While I'm bummed that she's already taken (aren't the cute ones always taken?), I'm also feeling pretty good to know that she is/was interested in me. It's been maybe more than a year since I've dated or even been out on a date. So knowing that I still have something that's attractive is a good feeling.
Oh. The phone's smart card did need to be replaced, and I also ended up buying a Sansa Scandisk media player, instead of an ipod shuffle. Lol.

Sounds like a good day! I hope your knee feels better...
My phone fell into a cup of water once while I was sitting in the car. I took the battery out and let it dry for a few days, and then it worked fine.
It didn't do so well when I took it kayaking though...
