 Final "Ninja80" teaser ad...

Opted for more of a teaser, less of a challenge/soap box/manifesto type ad at this pre-publication stage. One of the overriding emotions I'm having as a bi-product of all the research I'm doing, plus the boom in DVD pirating from Japan, is a sense of frustration and even anger at how ripped off we were in the 80's by the ninja craze. Shit, we got like 6 movies starring Kosugi and Dudikoff, then TMNT killed the whole thing. Meanwhile Australia and Italy and South America had Kamui cartoons, Watari, Akakage, Shintaro the Samurai, and more. None of the high end Japanese flicks made it here. If I had seen "Shinobi no Mono" in 1986 it would have changed my damn life...

Spent all day Saturday working on props for a photo shoot in June. Amazing how a little weathering and touches like new handle covers can make lowgrade catalog stuff and cosplay souvenirs look like items pulled from a display case in the Iga museum.

Meanwhile in lucha land, got a copy of Bobb Cotters Mexi-lucha filmography, and one of the TJ lucha DVDs from Konnan - reviews coming soon.
