I've decided that I should start spending more time at the galleries on campus and in town so today I went to see an awesome exhibit in the Chang Gallery and another in the William T. Kemper Gallery.  The Chang Gallery was featuring the works of Cutler-Anderson Architects.  The designs of the structures were so awesome.  I loved the way that each building was perfectly in balance with nature.  It didn't usurp the landscape, but it didn't hide in amongst the landscape either.  The gallery and the exhibit was very calming, but I think that all great contemporary design has the effect.  I wish I could post some of the designs up here but their website is too smart for that and I can't save the images so go to their website and look at their works.

The Kemper Gallery produced a very different feeling, and had I known this I would have viewed the galleries in the opposite order.  The current exhibit is "Antoin Sevruguin and the Persian Image."  The exhibit is on loan from the Smithsonian (Streer Gallery if I remember correctly).  The eyes of the images have very penetrating stares, but the quality of the work is good.

Tomorrow I'm hoping to visit the Marianna Kistler Beach Museum of Art before I have my class meeting and accounting.  There are a few exhibits showing there that I would like to see.

Wow....from this it would seem like the Little Apple is full of the arts, but unfortunately no.  I think I will about have covered all the galleries that I know of in town by the end of tomorrow.

You're not an art major are you? Just wondering since you're makin' some extensive gallery talk. And by the way, what is the Little Apple? 'Cause I'm studying design in New York at the moment, and I have no idea what that is.

No, I'm not an art major; I just love the arts and used to be an architecture major.  The little apple is Manhattan, Kansas
