It's a snow day. How happy am I? It's nice to get so much sleep, but I'd like to have gone to yoga last night and on a run today. We'll see how the rest of the afternoon pans out-- a lot of yesterday's snow is melting.
Now, I've lost 2 days worth of work in my classroom. My students need to finish their paragraphs; something I'd like to achieve before spring break. However, I can't check the computer lab schedule from home, so I have no idea when I can finish up in there. Hopefully, Monday and Tuesday I can get into a lab and then Wed, Thurs, and Friday, I'll have to move up my lessons on prefixes and suffixes. We'll do Akeelah and the Bee when we get back from spring break. I hope Plan A is workable. If not, we'll have to go ahead and do the week-long lesson on Akeelah and the Bee this week and then pick up our paragraphs after spring break, and I hate that idea.
My moments for this week:
- Two students wrote a song for me, I think I mentioned that in a previous post. There was a dance and everything to it! It was pretty darn cute.
- Most of my Dell TechKnow students' computers worked after they reassembled them! Yay! I think we have 5 that didn't work-- one CPU might be broken.

- SNOW! TWICE!
- Playing "I Spy" while we waited for parents to pick kids up.
- The same student who came up to ask for his make-up work last week, decided to work on his English paragraph while we waited for his parents to pick him up from school yesterday! He told me he wants to get ahead on all of his work so he can play football next year. I like this new leaf he has turned over!
- I have my fingers crossed for last year's students-- I want a bunch of 4s when we get TAKS results back!
I have a three day weekend now, a five day week, and then spring break. I'm going to make the most of it all!
