  • Which car would you buy?

I'm selling my car and buying a new one! Hoorah!

    http://dallas.craigslist.org/car/600800796.html

    That's my ad.

Anyway, I'm looking at several different cars seriously. The list (so far):
    1. 2007/2008 Nissan Sentra

    2. 2006/2007 Saturn Ion

    3. 2008 Saturn Astra

    4. 2008 Toyota Corolla

    5. 2008 Toyota Yaris

    6. 2006-2008 Toyota Prius

    7. 2007/2008 Honda Civic

    8. 2007/2008 Honda Civid Hybrid

So, based on what one might know about cars, and you were in my shoes... which car would you buy?

I am not a big car person so I don't know that I am going to be helpful here. I tend to go look for a car that I like and then I go back to Consumer Report and look at the "Predicted Reliability" of the car. I try to never buy a car that doesn't have a track record (they tend to get better the more years they put a car out). I look at some of the problems that people have run into with the car. And yet all of that research, has probably not had any impact on the quality of car I buy.

I am a huge Sentra and Prius fan. I love the looks of the Astra but don't know much about it... its just such a hot little number though. And I really love Hybrids, but I don't like the look of the civic.
Thats my two cents worth... where is my money?!

Yup, I'm workin' MSN Autos hardcore right now. Hopefully it translates to a pretty good car. When it comes down to it, it will probably be the car that feels the best when I drive it + good reliability + affordable payments.

Haha. You sound like me. Some day there must be a reward for being responsible.

To be honest I know almost nothing about cars nor do I care about them that much. But I know enough to know that Japanese cars are the way to go for longevity and reliability. Of the cars you have, I would pick either the Civic or the Civic Hybrid, but if I could afford the couple extra thousand I would by the Hybrid because that would make up the difference in gas alone.

I've driven a civic and it's the only car I've ever wanted to buy.

I drove a Honda Accord for years and years and years and it was hassle-free.  I now drive a Honda Pilot and have been thrilled with its performance.  I say go with one of the Hondas!

    I will never choose
Prius because it’s hard to drive unlike my Toyota Corolla, it’s almost two
years now and I don’t find it hard to drive.
My friends call me the joy rider because I'm enjoying driving my Toyota Corolla.
